Do you really believe the league is over...?

If the rags and scousers draw and we win at Stoke and Everton we can win it by beating the rags

The slight caveat in here, is goal difference. If you work out we need say need 12 points to win it because the goal difference is so huge, the league won't officially recognize us as champions, so you have to factor in an extra point to be awarded the league. My hope would be a Palace miracle win v United, and then Liverpool and United draw and we beat Swansea. That would leave liverpool on 61 points. And us on 81. 20 points clear with 8games (24 points) to go, would mean we need 5 points to be crowned champs which of course would be Everton and Man United. Liverpool are not going to lose to Watford at Anfield and United are not going to lose to West Ham before then. Let's be realistic.

I think unfortunately Liverpool are going to delay our celebrations by a week or so. They have the CL tie sewn up, can field a weakend side mid-week and be ready for United. Whereas United have to think of the the Sevilla match a few days later. Fitness will be sorely tested!

For us to take the title before the derby we have to beat Stoke and Everton away (neither a given) and Utd need to drop 3 points and Liverpool 2.
Utd drawing or losing tonight and a draw in the 'Biggest Game of the Season' (TM) next weekend will be sufficient.

Maths says Manure have to drop at least 5 points prior to the derby ( which can only be achieved by two losses or a draw and a loss ) unless one of the relevant games postponed due to the FA Cup is brought forward.

My gut feeling says the title will be decided on Derby Day no matter the results until then.

Keep saying but nobody is listening. The most the rags can get is 89 points, that is 11 points more than we have now which is 4 wins. The most dippers can get is 87 points, that is 9 points more than we have now which is 3 wins. If we win the next 2 games and then beat the rags the most they can get is 86 points which is 8 points so enough to win. Doesn’t matter what else happens between now and then. The only other scenario is if the rags/dippers loose before we play the rags then we win the league early.

I for one am listening Fred but everybody knows or should know that 84 points will be more than enough to win the title this year.

There is not a hope in hades that one or more of Manure , Liverpool or Spurs will finish on more than 84 points this season.

History will show that 84 points will most likely win it by a margin but worst case scenario 84 points will win it for us on goal difference.

Its pretty simple get to 84 points and the title is ours no matter how quick its done.

I agree the goal difference won't be made up, but we won't officially have won it if it is mathematically possible to lose it.

The point is the scenario I painted means we cannot lose it mathematically Jordie so if we agree the goal difference is too great then when you said I was wrong I was in pointing out a scenario which you now concur with.

31 goal swing in 7 games is over 4 per match of course at best we would be -7 and it means at best one of the chasing pack have to be at least plus 23 in seven wins.

Our three losses this season have been by one goal.

It's won but it won't be declared which is the same as saying under that scenario where Rags and Liverpool draw a draw against Manure is enough to win the title.

It matters none that its not declared when you know its won Jordie.

Its like you know when your wife is cheating on you and she knows you know but you don't actually tell her you know to her face.

The title is ours whether we declare it or not if we beat Stoke and Everton and draw against Manure if Manure draw against Liverpool assuming Manure beat West Ham and C Palace or Liverpool beat Watford and C Palace if Manure fail to do that.

I would put money on at least one of those four games where one of those sides drop points anyway and wouldn't be surprised if both of them don't win both games.

Bottom line is get to 84 points and the title is ours I am positive if we finish on 84 points this season VK will hold his second trophy aloft.

I have checked with most of the entertainment agencies but apparently none of the many Lady Of Size singers on their books have been booked yet for next month.

It will be over when it is over... until then I just keep on hoping.

They weren't going to lose against a shit Newcastle either - anything is possible :)
