Talksport

According to the BB they can't sit back against Liverpool like they did against us as it's a bigger game (even though the title was at stake against us).
Remarkable levels of delusion being displayed to keep themselves relevant.

Apparently, a lady presenter took umbrage yesterday a being called ‘love’ and cut the caller off. Are we getting to touchy about these terms of address? Personally I hate being called ‘love’ or ‘duck’, ‘darling’ etc. But not enough to create a fuss.

Usually i would agree with you that people are getting too touchy about these terms being used, but the tone that the caller used was pretty condescending and dismissive so i was pretty pleased she fucked that Liverpool fan off.

Discussion about McWhoAmI playing for Scotland or England.
Rag caller tells us that we had the same discussion about jizzyjazz (Belgium or England) and now ‘nobody cares about him’
Not for one second did he , or any of the ‘experts’ in the studio see the irony of that statement.

Don't be silly; this lad will be a world star. He could play for any country in the world. Could easily be in the pfa team of the year. What is he 16 /17 ? Irony?

He called her love, she replied calling him love. He clearly didn't understand what she was saying, he then called her darling and she said don't call me darling. He called her love again and she cut him off. He did seem condescending but is yet another example of the state of the world we live in.

If I phoned up because Pablo Zabaleta (Danny Murphy) was on and Hawksby or Jacobs (the female presenter) answered, I’d be dismissive of them as well. “Yeah alright mate, Pablo can I ask you about.....”

It seemed to me that he was dismissive because of who she was not what she was.

I just felt, it wasn't as much what was said but how it was said that riled her up.

Maybe re-read what i posted.

I think it wasn't the terms used (love & darling) that she found offensive but the tone & context in which they were spoken.

No, it was another example of someone going OTT over pretty much nothing. She aggressively said "don't call me darling" after she called him love. She could have been professional and politely said do you mind not calling me love or darling I am not a fan of that. Instead she called him love and reacted to him angrily. She is being lorded when in fact she should learn to act with a bit of professionalism.

No she didn't.

She said 'oh, alright, you don't need to call me darling,' followed by 'i'm not your darling'. and if you think it was said aggressively then you must be a right wuss.

And as for it being OTT she didn't rage or scream and shout. she just explained she would n't be continuing his call as she felt he wouldn't address her properly, which when you consider the caller only referred to her as love/darling but used 'Danny' when conversing with Murphy she kinda had a point.

If I am correct there is a 5 second caller delay on Talk sport. So we don't know what the jerk, and he was, went on to say.

I am a wuss yet you are massively offended over darling and love being used. Irony ey. Had he have called Danny "mate" would there have been an issue? No. She did go OTT because she didn't say politely "sorry can you not say them words" she said don't call me darling and then when he called her love she hung up. She wasn't very clear esp considering the guy on the blower didn't sound the brightest spark.

christ on a bike, please learn to read & understand before spouting off.
I've previously stated that i didn't think the terms used were an issue, only that the tone they were used with, and also the fact the caller didn't have the courtesy to use her name like he did with the other presenter.
So presenting a straw man like 'what if he had called Danny 'mate' is irrevelant because he didn't.

Also how the fuck do you equate to someone going OTT because they actually didn't do something? What sort of fucked up logic is that?
Your previous argument that it could be considered slightly unprofessional possibly had some merit, but the only one going OTT is you because she didn't react how you thought she should, and you then also try to justify it by making out she was aggressive when she wasn't.

She didn't react as someone in her role should have, not how I think she should just generally she dealt with it all wrong. I speak to people every day, many women call me love (which I know you aren't complaining about the words being used) if I said to someone at work I'm not talking to you and walked off I'd be labelled a drama queen and probably asked to explain why I over reacted. All she had to say was I am sorry but can you not call me them names. She said with an arsy attitude "don't call me darling" She was confrontational and it wasn't necessary especially when I add the guy on the phone didn't really have a clue.

If you think that's how you act in the work place, talking to the general public that's fine, we have differing opinions on it.
