Talksport

That's what i find hard to understand. If he was so focused on just talking to Murphy then he could of just ignored her after and carried on speaking to him after the utd goals thing, but he switched back to her in a patronizing 'the fact is love...' as if he was talking to an imbecile, which is when she decided she couldn't be arsed continuing with him.

My 'distorting her words' were more aimed at the other poster who keeps repeating the same BS line time & again and not what she actually said, and then adding in she was OTT, confrontatitional & aggresive to justify his view, so my apologies.
Tom just likes being a shock jock character, she handled herself fine and right

It's live mate.

Actually there is a few seconds delay, to stop the idiots swearing etc.
It has been mentioned quite often by various presenters, when cutting people off.
Especially after the pubs have closed
So it is impossible to say duck off to Alan Brazil live on air, as many will have tried..

I was on there late last year and I could hear myself talking on the radio.

That's how you perceived it because seemingly like this whole nation we want stuff to offend us. He knew who Danny was, he is a Liverpool fan ffs he might not have known her name and used it as a way of speaking to her. She was confrontational, 100% if something that isn't really that offensive offends you then I think you should tell them reasonably and give them chance to rectify it. Don't snap saying "don't call me darling" her job that day was talking to the general public, at least address them correctly. I will repeat again, if it offended her she only had to say sorry, do you mind not talking like that. She called him love back instantly too, oh no how offensive.
I'm not even English so well done with your bullshit generalisations.

If the world's too PC for you, ask yourself why you're arsed that's the case.

It depends whether it was meant in a condescending manner. If he said listen mate/pal to a bloke then that would be equally patronising because it is a random caller who is clearly not your mate/pal. Would you get so shirty about it? Probably not, but the world we live in now makes it difficult to see where the line is with things like this.

It is a common thing in the north of England to refer to a woman as "love" and be meant in a complementary way. In the south of England it would be less common I would say.
It’s equally common for a women to call a man love and I don’t find it offensive, anymore than being called kiddo should be seen as offensive.

I listened to Talkshite for the first time in ages and caught that exchange. I thought she was spot on. Gave him a couple of warnings then cut him off when he ignored them.

The fact that you don’t find it offensive is neither here nor there. She did find it insulting and it was as much the man’s tone that annoyed her. He made no attempt to acknowledge her protest and just carried on. In fact I felt he was deliberately trying to antagonise her. So good for her.

I heard it last night for the first time and thought she was well within her rights to do so as well.
Interesting also was there was another part trying to explain how she was correct with another woman presenter,Parlour and Brazil.
Parlour got it straight away but Brazil really struggled to take the point on.
Cringing every time Brazil opened his mouth.

Feel free to listen to it a few times like I have. She didn't give him a couple of warnings. She called him love in response firstly (that's not a warning) her only warning was when she unprofessionally snapped at him saying "don't call me darling" As he was talking to Danny she interrupted and he said excuse me love. When she was defending herself on twitter afterwards she didn't even get it right there either claiming she cut him off when he said excuse me darling. He was a tit, she was OTT.

You've done well to extend this non event to a four page discussion. She wasn't OTT; he pissed her off, she cut him off after a warning, end of. Now you're so upset by her attitude that you're defending a patronising scouser that you've actually called a tit. Women should know their place when football is being discussed ey?

I'm not defending either of them, I also didn't say a woman should know their place. Well done on making something up though. I replied today as someone said he had several warnings, he had one rude warning. I talk to the general public every day, most days being spoken too rudely and it leading to me being "pissed off" I wouldn't rudely shut them down or if on the phone to them cut them off. Unprofessional.

If you think she was rude, you must be a little bit sensitive yourself. The fact that you're accusing the general public of being rude to you on a daily basis supports this. If people are really being rude to you maybe you need to look at yourself and ask yourself if your attitude has anything to do with it. Comparing a caller to a radio show to a potential customer is just bollocks.

"I talk to the general public every day".

A Trumpian phrase if ever I saw one, up there with "I know the best words".

I think young Thomas is a bit of a troll. He's also mocking City fans who wore a yellow ribbon at Wembley on another thread. Shame I'm not a mod anymore or I'd be doing what Lynsey Hipgrave did to that caller and cutting him off.
