Yaya is going. We all know that. No point analysing his performances to death. He won’t be playing more than once or twice for the rest of the season.

I’m more concerned with the likes of Stones who is staying and looks like a 17 yr old playing his first game at times

I admit I thought Yaya would of continued last season's form and would of still made more of a contribution.

Yaya will start the final home match against Huddersfield so that he can be substituted (hopefully in the 42nd minute) so the fans can give him a proper sendoff. I'd love to see a bunch of inflatable birthday cakes just to show him the love. I think he'd think it was hilarious.

Strange that listening to people at the game, before the match, they were saying he would show why he should be in the team, will probably score at least two goals and lead a youthful team to another good night. Wrong, wrong, and wrong - there is no sentiment in football and I feel let down by him as I sat there watching him slow us down, amble about and show no desire to win tonights match. Ok, rant over as I'm freezing and I am thrilled we are in the last eight. However, Yaya should never don the shirt again - put simply he always makes us turn into the Pellegrini team of 2 years ago. I'm sure Pep will not be pleased and at least he can now say "well I gave you the chance you wanted."

I hope you're fucking kidding.

It was obvious what would happen in the game,he is a legend but no more appearances except the last home game when he can get a send off

Harsh but true and I feared beforehand that his performance would be exactly this. He slows the game down every time and he cannot /will not up the tempo , which negates our strength as a team.

He has been a great player for us , but time has caught up with him big time.

Any centre half in world football would look shit with that midfield in front of it, it's not Stone's fault a Swiss pub team could run 50 yards unchallenged.

I watched Yaya for a good six or seven minutes in the second half when he barely moved out of the centre circle. Pep was not happy. Sad to see that is career is coming to an end but he did excellent for us for a good few years. He'll get a good send off.

Legend. Show your appreciation in the last few games he plays for us before he departs at the end of the season. One of the greatest to ever play for the club and perhaps THE greatest in terms of big trophy winning moments. I for one will miss the big arsed bastard

He and his head have gone. Hes not interested. He's been wonderful for us but his time has come.

One thing I would love to have seen is cakegate and pep was in charge. Bye yaya bye agent lol.

I don't think he was great, but the narrative here is just assinine. He ran more times defensively in this game than he often did at his peak 4 years ago. I mean even for their second goal, he was at fucking Right back and he got there by running from the middle.

Yes he ( and Zee and Foden and Gundogan) all spent way too much time leisurely passing it around and backwards with few ideas going forward.

But he was neither lazy not disinterested. That narrative is just silly.

He was certainly no worse than other midfielders, but he certainly has lost his appetite for using his strength in knocking opponents off the ball and having a shot.

I think people are expecting to see those marauding runs and when he doesn't do them, he's lazy and disinterested. He simply can't do them because he's the midfielder with the most defensive responsibility (unlike between 2010-2016/17)and probably due to a lack of match fitness. The system doesn't suit him but the technical ability is still there and rarely did he give it away. He did well tonight.

Time waits for no man , loved Yaya being at our club so many big goals and big performances , it makes me wince when i see other posters really lay into him and probably jutifiably with the contribution he now makes , just hope our supporters can cut him a bit of slack , he will only be a bit part player for the remainder of the season , so when he does play lets show hom sone respect , he deserves that.

Can't do the job, but we knew that anyway. Only there so someone else didn't have to play. Still, at least you knew he was there unlike gundogan, who the crowd only remembered that he existed when the announcer told us he was being subbed off, if he actually came on at any point.

Brilliant player for us over the years and will get a great send off at the end of the season.

No longer able to play in our system, couldn't cover the space in front of the back four or press the opposition quick enough.

He actually pressed quite a bit up until the equaliser (albeit that was quite early). I can accept the claims he wasn't up to standard but I don't think it was laziness.

I think he might still be ok if we need someone off the bench to kill a game with possession, but anything more than 30 minutes and he has it in him to be a liability unfortunately.
