Stoke (A) Post Match thread

I thought KDB was an absolute dead cert for Player of the Year but David will run him close if he continues with this form. When you think about what he's had to contend with in his private life it's even more remarkable. What a privilege for us to have this talent and professionalism at our club.

Absolutely brilliant. Feels like he's starting to get the wider appreciation he deserves.

Already dreading the day he leaves

I'm welling up inside.

Shaky defence though. We can be got at.........

Really?

Last 5 games: 15 scored, 2 conceded.

A very difficult game, in a very hostile atmosphere against a bunch of cloggers fighting for their Premier League survival.

Well, we came through it and moved a step closer to the title.
Annoys the fuck out of me this shit about our defence can be got at or their defence is a bit dodgy fucking 20 goals conceded who the fuck has a better record than that..

That got a thumbs up & applause from their manager & coach, like 'yep, that's what we have been talking about, long ball, take Kompany out, Walker lobs the keeper'.

Clever fucking gameplan if they were working towards that one. Pep would have no chance engineering that.

All joking aside, NK, it's exactly what Mourinho will be planning to do with Lukaku when we meet; they did the same to Liverpool at the weekend to great effect.

He would be if we were voting for it, but if KDB doesn't get it, that win fuck all bottling scouse **** will get it.

We could easily have had 5 if we had been ruthless and clinical. Happy we come away with a win, clean sheet and nothing too serious on the injuries apart from Nico.

I hope those that vote know all the nuances. Easily the finest player to ever have graced the prem. Nobody has been as consistently great as him and i include Bergkamp etc in this. I do not even think it is close. He is one of the finest if not the finest player i have ever seen with the exception of Messi.

Their pain is delicious

Every single song of theirs is about us. You're winning the league by a landslide and singing songs about a team who don't even consider you their main rivals, small club at heart still.
All those years that they were winning trophy after trophy and they still felt the need to have that banner and to keep updating it religiously.
These fans claim to support the biggest team in the world and yet they pretty much invented small club mentality.
They really don’t do irony at the old toilet.

Say one thing about Stoke & Lambert, they didn't play to crock us, despite some of the dire warnings on the pre-match thread. Fair play.
Can't say the same about their fans though.

It was mentioned after the game that the bottom 3 clubs were all Tony Pulis last clubs.......

When you attack well, you defend well and, when you defend well, you attack well." - Pep Guardiola Goals conceded: Manchester City - 20 Manchester United - 23 Tottenham - 25

Absolutely.

The main difference, we would hope, is that unlike Liverpool, we won't be completely fucking shite.

In that one instance, Kompany got himself dragged under the ball, but I was also struck by how often Walker chose not to contest high balls in his area. That lot will do similar, but if we play at any pace, we can slice open their midfield.

Voting for PFA Player of the year was done a couple of weeks ago. The ship has sailed.

City's POTY competition might be another matter, and maybe the FWA POTY because the press do have a real affinity for merlin and they vote later.
