United (H) Post Match Thread

I put more blame on ref than pep, we were not gonna get back into it after 2-3,Atkinson saw to that, what does ashley young have to do,shades of chelsea last season. I honestly think everyone wants us to lose, show me where the decisions even themselves out, gutted atm. Soon we can look back on the good points of this season (champions etc) but we must strengthen for next season and I am sure Pep knows how, and remember our name will still be on that trophy long after where/when it was won has been forgotten.

What about just today then fuck end?

no need to be abusive and as a long term member of this forum you should know better

The ref made a number of huge wrong calls today.....two potential penalties on kun and hand ball by young int he first half should have both been given

what i was saying is however you cannot rely on refs to make these calls...these mistakes happen all the time.....you can only rely on yourself as a manager/player...and Pep got it wrong...Even int he first half we were well off it..nowhere near as good. Peps calls to not play both Silva and KDB were wrong, as was his decision to not go with a striker on the pitch....Gundogan was awful vs Liverpool the other night and was today despite his goal; he was completely anonymous..he just doesn't fit in despite being a very good player. Playing him over KDB was criminal

we didnt deserve to win that game the way we played

So.. what was the masterplan with Pep mentioning Pogba yesterday? Was that mind games because if it was he just did Mourinhos team talk for him, it was a fucking stupid decision and it backfired. Don't try and be a clever ****, put our first 11 out to win the derby and worry about who is fit on Tuesday. Pissed off with a) our defending and b) Pep and the clubs obsession with Europe.

I'm struggling to come to terms with exactly which aspect of this MONUMENTAL fuck up is annoying me the most.

  • Is it the absolutely abject defending and shitting ourselves to allow 3 goals in in 16 minutes. On the back of the Liverpool shambles.
  • Is it the downright cheating of Martin Atkinson, denying us at least 1 cast iron penalty and probably two.
  • Is it abysmal finishing from Sterling which meant a dead and buried game was still alive?
  • Or is it the shocking line up, without a striker in sight.
  • Or maybe the substitutions, taking off our best player Silva, when we needed him more than ever.

If I could give a score out of 10 for the last 4 days, i'd give us ZERO.
Exactly.... Apart from the ref....I hate blaming refs.

Yeah but for a couple of hundred grand a week you would expect him to score at least 1 of the 3 piss easy chances
But he does score.. plenty... but those high pressure one on ones aren’t his skill. There are some players no matter how good they are you don’t pick them to take a penalty.. that’s like Sterling. It’s a disposition thing. Sane doesn’t get this level of stick an he ain’t a striker either. We need to play strikers.. and Aguero is the only one we have who’s good enough

Having 2 more games to win this fuckin thing when it was there for the taking. Fuming. Play with a striker from the off and we win by a boat load. Its the thought that we had one eye on tues that ranckles. Esp after all season all weve heard is 'one game at a time'. I know i'll calm down but right now im gutted. Dipper fucks and rags jumping with glee. Lets wrap this up and think about next season.

You tell me, go on, start answering questions instead of asking 'em. i know who I think's to blame and I said in my first post, we took our foot off the gas. So go on genius, rip seven kinds of shite out of the best team/manager we've ever seen at the club.
Your the one saying not the players or managers fault, well only players on the pitch and the manager picking the team, are the only people who can influence the game, they lost so clearly they are to blame, simple as that

Of course, but today was a one off a chance and Tuesday is a faint hope. The players will be as down as we all are and not on a high.

That's the risk you take if you play the next game in your head instead of the one in front of you.

It is also very rare to lose a half and end up going from needing one win for a title to two.

It feels like going backwards when we were going so great at Everton just 7 days ago.

We will likely regroup and feel better soon but right now it feels hard to view today as any kind of positive.
I know it sucks, never been easy to be a City supporter

Has to be said that was such a 45 minute let down that - especially once we go out of the champs league ( hope I am wrong but can't see it ) when we do win the league it will be so after the Lord Mayors show it will feel a bit of a let down.

Do those saying that Kun or Jesus would have scored the chances that Raz missed think that they would have actually been in the position he was for the first two misses? I do not think they would. Great movement from Raz but abysmal finishing.

I think Guardiola's selection was ok and that he was let down by finishing and the performance of the match officials. A chance to become legends has been lost but we need to regroup and at least give things a good go on Tuesday. I think winning the tie is unlikely but we should at least try to win the game.

I remember how much the Bournemouth 3-3 hurt me and this does not feel as bad as that. Maybe it is mellowing with age or the knowledge that we will (eventually) win the league but still pretty down. Gonna turn off the phone, open a nice bottle of Talisker and watch something on Netflix to avoid smug rags who will swamp the media.

Agree with all this. Especially sterling movement. He was good in that. Not to mention his constant hassling and pressing to win the ball back. Pep knows this too.

I’m not going to speak on the performance of the players or the ref. This just hurts and I have a headache in addition to that.

I didn’t look at anything related to football after the loss earlier this week. As I’m typing this, it’s just too painful a feeling. Nonetheless, on to the next one. Have to focus on what’s ahead

He lifted their whole season last year after disrespecting us in the league cup.

He’s done it again today.

Since his Barca days when he had a freakishly once in a lifetime player at his disposal he has fucked up every big test. Every one.

I’m struggling to see the improvement over past managers to be honest. All this money spent and no discernible improvement in results.

Arrogant and disrespectful.
