United (H) Post Match Thread

I reckon they spent half time planning their celebrations and totally lost focus.

At the end of the day nothing really changes as a result of that, we will win the league at some point but this week has seriously tainted our season. We've gone from debatably the best side this country has seen to simply worthy champions in a week.

Unless we perform a miracle on Tuesday, this season will be remembered in years to come as the time a great City side fell apart within 4 days. Nobody will recall smashing good sides throughout the season and going on a ridiculous wining streak, they'll remember getting stuffed at anfield and throwing away a 2-0 lead against our rivals in a game that could have won us the league.

Both the players and Pep are equally at fault for this. He's got the lineup wrong twice and the players have shown they lack a backbone twice. To give away a 2 goal lead at halftime when it should have been 4/5 and lose 3-2 is pathetic. After they took the lead we didn't even look like scoring again either just like in the Liverpool game.

Hate that they and Pool have some kind of bragging rights when we have such a great season.

Coming back from international break this really not good so far.

3-0 loss in CL making it nearly impossible for second leg, an losing the unbeatenhome record vs United.

Pep never lost from 2-0 up and never conceded 3 goals 2 times in a row as a manager.

Should've been 4 or 5 up first half. Had 2 good penalty shouts. Hit the post twice. They scored with all their chances. We rested some key players and at least 3 starters. It's a painful result no doubt, but not one that worries me - we win that game 99 times out of 100.

A very poor week which could easily be extended with further games against Liverpool & Spurs to come - but hopefully one come the end of the season we can put behind us.

Find it hard to complain given the football we've witnessed this season, but little doubt it'll feel like a season of missed opportunity when we look back on it given our dominance yet our slip ups against Liverpool/United/Wigan.

Fortunately joyous times around the corner when we win the league to help wash these weeks away.

I am doing.

Roll on VAR and we don’t lose that match.

I agree but we simply weren't anywhere near our best today even in the first half...we were well off the pace and we had a good 25 mins and grabbed 2 goals....and should have had 3 others....however you cannot say that we were playing anywhere near as we'll as we have this season even in the first half.....

You cannot control (at the moment) the ref decisions (right or wrong) and blaming that is deflecting away from the inadequacies that were on display from the team and the manager....

1st Half should have been 5-0. What I'm worried about is we're doing the same thing as last year where we all blamed Bravo - 3 shots, 3 goals. Maybe it's not the goalies but the chances we give away are very simple.

Sterling missed some good chances, but you've got to be in the position to score them, and I'd much rather we had the chances than not.

This team is not like Mancini's title winning team.
This team disintegrates so very fast,I mean we play and if opposition comes at us and score,we lose our rythum completely.
This team doesn't has that mental strength to cover a 8 point deficit in April.
Yes players are young and will run and maybe They are not as mentally strong but mid week game should have been a lesson PL at Anfield should have been a lesson,Wigan game should have been lesson.
Pep's teams had that self destruction mode in them and we are seeing that here.
Hopefully we pick up after Spurs and game and win next 2 and seal the title with 3 games to spare.
Mid week and Spurs, anything great will be. Bonus but not getting my expectations high

Always the same posters with their negative shite. It’s like they can’t wait to jump on the team when we’re having a wobble.
Don’t deserve this club some of you miserable ****s.
It’s been a tough week but when we finally get over the line this fixture will be long forgotten and we will have two trophies to show off.
Spot on. Soft-centred surrender monkeys. Take the fixture next week; always taking the piss out of Liverpool fans European history without realising we have to build some of our own. Tuesday could be our St. Etienne or AC Milan or Auxerre but we'll have to be careful with our optimism so that our feelings aren't hurt and so we can get some self-flagelation in after being beaten by those cnuts. Some don't know they're born.

So you’re a non league clogger who got £50 a game and some petrol money. Good on you. Explains your football philosophy.
Ha ha you tool, explain your football philosophy, got picked last at school because you were shit but knows everything

Any team in the world that concedes 3 goals is probably going to loose we cant just outscore everybody. their goals were not world class it was sloppy defending.

I never imagined years ago that winning a league and a cup would be a huge disappointment or anti climax.

Still don't. We're priveliged.

I don’t get how you don’t get this. As a city fan through all those years of pain and watching the vermin across town win everything.. today we had a chance to win the league against the rags.. never had that chance before and probably will never again have it. Pep approached the game like he didn’t get how important this would be to us. Even in his post match interview he’s fairly nonchalant about it

Look at the table then wobble your head so fast that you lose consciousness.
Lose to Liverpool and this team will barely be remembered. Even when we have the best season of our lives we have to fuck it up to end it in the most disappointing way possible.

Christ. Read that back.

We should have been four or five up at half time and yet you’re still blaming the manager.

People like you really don’t deserve this team.
