United (H) Post Match Thread

So in the space of a week his two main rivals as Managers both got the better of him...Do I find that worrying -hell yes. Next Season they will all be coming for us .
He should be fully embarrassed that his Pogba jibe blew up in his face. So thanks pep you've made the fans life hell for a week.

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to be crowned Premier League champions another week. It's a hard life.

I don’t get how you don’t get this. As a city fan through all those years of pain and watching the vermin across town win everything.. today we had a chance to win the league against the rags.. never had that chance before and probably will never again have it. Pep approached the game like he didn’t get how important this would be to us. Even in his post match interview he’s fairly nonchalant about it
Yep. Big alarm bells. Any outsider could understand how big this game was. Or not.

Lose to Liverpool and this team will barely be remembered.
Yet they will be the fifth team in nearly 140 years to win the league. Likely have the highest points. Likely score the most goals.

If you’ll barely remember them then that’s on you but not to worry. The rest of us won’t have to put up with your opinions as you likely won’t remember your log in details soon.

I don't think the blame lays solely at Pep's door, did he take a risk initially starting without a striker? Yes but we went in at half time 2-0 up so you can't say he was wrong because it was working, if we'd have gone in at 0-0 you might have a case and I'm sure he'd have brought a striker on at half time if that was the case. That's not what happened though so the starting line up was fine. Can you blame him for thinking he didn't need to risk bringing on a striker at the start of the 2nd half? I would have brought Jesus or Aguero on personally just to get a goal and set them up for Tuesday.

Long story short we threw away a game we were already winning and should have seen out... bad defending, midfield not tracking runners to help out enough. Oh and a shit ref because we should have being playing against 10 men while we were still winning with two chances to score from the penalty spot to boot.
The only thing about Pep I’d say is we should have reacted at 2-1. Regardless we should not have lost.

Lose to Liverpool and this team will barely be remembered. Even when we have the best season of our lives we have to fuck it up to end it in the most disappointing way possible.
Has it ended ? Thought we had 6 games left, and a 13 point lead. Barely remembered you need to lie down and think about it.

Wow just back and that was a major disappointment. Still we played some great stuff and even without a real striker should have been out of sight. Can't quite believe some of the nonsense I'm reading on here. That said the last two games shows how important the fullback positions are. During the last 2 seasons we were very vulnerable to letting in goals from unchallenged crosses and players being caught out of position - replacing the fullbacks seemed to sort that out. Walker was poor on Wednesday and today we were back with Delph and Danilo who are simply not good enough to win us the CL. Danilo in particular kept giving stupid free kicks away and indeed the winning goal came from a really silly, weak tackle. We have to stick together now, win the title and go for it on Tuesday and you never know what could happen. Then next season hopefully Mendy will be fit and Walker's form returns (which we know will happen) so let's regroup and trust the players and Pep to sort it out.

The thing that hurts the most is howhilariously bad this United side is. I guess their first goal can be called decent, but other than that they struggle to make 3 passes between them. they have to be the worst footballing side in english history to place 2nd. We should be going in to the break 5 goals ahead, instead we have completely ruined the fantastic vibe and buzz thats been there all season, because we decided to f*ck about against 2 wank teams.

Hope we go out in style on tuesday, win the league as fast as possible, and start planning for the new season asap, because this week has shown that this squad, while the most talented the premier league has ever seen, has a long way to go to be called elite.

But oh my, how all the little rags and dippers would trade away both results for a league trophy of their own.

And fuck off Atkinson, being allowed to ruin 2 Manchester derbies 9 years apart is absurd

Imagine we had someone even half as clinical as Messi or Ronaldo. I don't think we will won the Champions League until we have someone like that.

Oh, Messi just scored another free kick as I'm typing this
I completely agree I think this is what we need to take us up to that level. Imagine is messi had the sterling chances we’d have been 6-0 up at half time.. I guess neymar is the closest thing

I never imagined years ago that winning a league and a cup would be a huge disappointment or anti climax.

Still don't. We're priveliged.

Completely understand what your saying mate but I'm putting this in context. I watched City in div 2 but I'm angry becoz this years team deserves so much more this season and the last 2 results will affect that.
