United (H) Post Match Thread

It’s the one that just let 6 in in two games, you don’t think it’s a worry with Liverpool and spurs next, lose both them and things get scary.hope it’s all forgotten by great performances on Tuesday and next weekend but it’s going to be hard to get them back up after today I think.hope I’m wrong

Yeah I do think its a worry but the fact is we have conceded fewer goals in the PL then anyone else, unless Im missing something

One big problem with pep is he doesn’t make subs at the right time. At 2-2 we needed someone like kev on to give us back a fighting edge not when the 3 rd goal goes in.

Nobody says its only the referee at fault or the team couldn't play better

But it's thin margins. When we are playing Liverpool and Manure, the two best teams behind us in the league, we aren't going to win 10-0

Against Liverpool a couple of wrong calls (offside, penalty) converted what was potentially a 2-1 to a 3-0

Today we played brilliantly but missed chances. Fine, but may well have been 3-0 at half time, and even if that handball was not given the penalty / red card against Young was nailed on. That would be 3-3 with ten minutes to go against ten men.

but we cannot rely on ref decision to help us....we know that historically doesn't happen (right or wrong it just doesn't) - I have to disagree with you on the fact that you say we played brilliantly....I thought we were poor compared to the way we have played....the 35-30 mins in the first half were good but that was helped but he fact that utd were atrocious and we were playing well (but nowhere near as good as we have done this season). The second half we were very average and in the first part of th first half we were ordinary without being threatened by utd.

We cannot control the decisions. We can control how we play and how the other team plays....the midfield and forward line today baring silva were decidedly average....Sterling for the first half hour was having a good game bar his finishing but the rest were just damn average or worse.....Ilky was extremely poor Sane did very little and B. Silva was pretty much a non entity......

Please will you all just fuck off with your excuses. We were dog shit in that second half and don`t lets get away from the fact that our Manager dropped a bollock in not playing KDB from the onset and as much as I love Sterling his finishing was fucking bobbins tonight ... another reason for our defeat.
Them twats were there for the taking and we fucking bottled it ... again.
Exactly
Tuesday let's see what we can do . No more bottling it because we are getting sick of it ...

Goodnight all .

Played really well and I don't think we could have done much more. Maybe some better game management at 2-1. Restricting them to 4 shots on target and ourselves creating a hell of a lot, including some poor decisions - one of those days
Why not do the game management at 2-0? Why wait until 2 1, 2 2 3-2 down? Absolute joke we need to see games out, the dippers showed us how it's done on Wednesday night

Trying to make sense of the last two results. I don't know if I'm simplifying it too much but maybe we're just having our bad spell now, at probably the worst possible time. Every team has at least a short run of poor results at some point, even title winners

I do worry sometimes he slips he is actually moving away from the ball

Know the rules use your eyes. And I will repeat again I would have given both but one was blatant(Sergio) one wasn’t (young) it ain’t hard folks

They are not rules, hilts, they are Laws! And they were not applied today as they should have been. And as for using my eyes, that's exactly what I did, as did most of 323 I expect. It was right in front of us!

Ask Gavvo. Sounds like I'm having a go at him but I'm not, just genuinely don't get how he sees it like he does.

Absolutely scandalous how that’s not given. Granted we shouldn’t have needed it but not the point. 3-3 against 10 men and we probably win.

He should know that missing chances and then the scum making 2-1 the game has changed that’s when the changes needed to be done but like I said on the prematch thread Pep thinks the leagues won and all his efforts is on Tuesday.

Gutted about that today. Not necessarily because we didn’t sew the league up from a very decent position, not even because it was against United. It’s the way we lost it that pissed me off. Too casual at times, really, really poor defending for all 3 goals and we’re obviously guilty of missing more than a few chances ourselves.

The team selection was surprising, I thought he’d have gone for this given he’s often played our strongest 11 against lower placed teams. But, give him his dues, it worked in the first half. What concerns me is that we’re incapable of playing any other way. Our system works when we’re on the front foot, but not when teams get at us. Our in game management is poor when teams push on and that, in my opinion is not going to win us the champions league.

We’ve thrown an opportunity today that we’d all have loved and talked about for years. I can get over that, but we’ve thrown it so we can chase what I think is a lost cause on Tuesday. I think we’ll win on Tuesday, but we won’t keep a clean sheet and we’ll go out.

They must have been told to sit back and conserve energy in the 2nd half. We did it last week against Everton, but Everton didn’t press us so we kept the ball pretty easily. When they did press us, albeit for a very short period in that game, they scored.

We’ll win the league, it’s been a great season, but at the minute I’m fucking raging about things I’d have bollocked my under 13s side for doing.

the handball isn't deliberate but it does give them an advantage in that it clearly takes the ball away from sterling.

The one on sergio is a penalty and probably a red all day long
