Referees/Officials 2017/18 performances

That was a bizarre refereeing performance last night- for much of the game the referee wasn’t watching the play. He gave a number of decisions - including Mane’s foul on Otamendi which he wasn’t watching. It will be denied but it really looked last night like someone else was refereeing the game and giving instructions to the ref. The amount of time he had his back to play was ridiculous.

And when was the last set of three consecutive matches where we scythed someone down in the area and got away with it, left an arm so that the ball would divert to some measure of safety with a lino ne'er batting an eyelid, had two onside goals ruled out for offside and had two offside goals for the opposition chalked up, and at least one referee who gives the opposition a string of free kicks for the most innocuous tackles, and which team this season has received the same treatment re yellow cards? Have any other players in the PL or CL picked up yellow cards similar to the ones Ederson and Bernardo picked up last night? If I've learnt anything from this season it is that poor decisions never even themselves out! it's a fallacy. It's the kind of shit that Mike Riley would try and peddle, along with the recipients who benefit from said wrong decisions!

Well said mate.

I said that last night.. all the goal kicks he walked to the half way line with his back to the keeper with his arm in the air and only turned round when he felt he was in position. He reminded me of that twat Clattenburg... it was all about him last night.

I wonder if Moss was watching last night and saw the games on Sat and last week and is thinking jeez these guys have had some shockers, I’ll try and give them the benefit of the doubt this weekend?

Graham Poll: ""#ManCity have been victims of poor refereeing decisions in 3 consecutive games which have defined their season... After the run of poor decisions Pep has suffered I could understand his frustration boiling over. City weren't the same without him on the touchline."

I've had this goon down as the Hispanic Crappenberg for a while. He's a 'me' person. The fucking game is about him. The notion of walking back to the halfway line while Karaoke can take all the time in the world for a goal kick with ne'er more than a cursory wave of Lahoz's arm is just bizarre. But that, I think is the intention. Didn't we all say at the time "He's not fucking looking!" But the millions at the ground and on their sofas were!!

That ref was a cheat simple as. He never even asked at the end of the first half how many additional minutes to the fourth officicial. Pep asked him how many realised there was some and ran on to confront the ref

He deliberately allowed liverpool slow it down at every chance . The goalie should have been booked after 20 minutes.

I agree what others said half the time he was not even watching the game and just guessed in Liverpool’s favour.

Fixed that for you. Turned a blind eye when we went to Palace and were chopped to pieces and awarded Spurs two penalties at Anfield. Don't expect anything different from he on in.

Anfield away their first goal clearly offside, we had a good goal disallowed that was clearly onside, clear pen on Sterling not given. Scum at home clear pen on Sergio, blatant red for Young not given, constant time wasting allowed, we have twice the possession and most of the attacking play and yet concede twice as many free kicks. Scouse at home 2 good goals disallowed, Mane and Firminho not given red cards, constant time wasting completely ignored, our manager sent off. To add to that we play the first of those games after our team bus has been smashed up and had flares thrown underneath after the police have published the route of our bus and done NOTHING to protect it. This is not a whole season, it is less than a week. NO AGENDA MY FUCKING ARSE.

That’s akin to Hitler criticising anti-semitism in the Labour Party. Poll was the one who convinced me that reffing was bent over 10 years ago, after a bravura performance in a game at the Etihad v Arsenal.

The game he bowed at the end if i remember correctly, when getting dogs abuse for another dodgy performance.

Genuine question bud what was the other disallowed go last night ?

I agree about the crowd needing to be kept informed. this is 2 fold, to ensure the crowd know what is going on (Otherwise VAR will never be accepted), but also to keep the chance of corruption to a minimum. You may well have a point, but lets see, Off the top of my head I can remember multiple incidents where there was no VAR, Bernardo disallowed goal at Cardiff, Salah goal at anfield, Jesus disallowed goal at Anfield, Sterling none pen at Anfield, Young handball, young leg breaker on Aguero, where VAR wasn't used and they got 100% of those decisions wrong.

VAR may not have got 100% of those decisions correct, but it would be hard to not call the majority correctly. Can anyone name a City incident where VAR was used and we got a stinker of a decision?? I cant, but happy for someone better informed to correct me. If there isnt any, I just don't understand how any blue wont at least give it a fair crack of the whip to see if it does improve things....
If it is transparent, the officials have nowhere to hide. I think Rugby have it spot on
