Not been through the last few pages so apologies if already posted - I couldn’t believe that Atkinson’s inept performance last Saturday has been rewarded with an F.A Cup semi final appointment (Chelsea/ Southampton) whilst the Alti fan has got Spuds v Manure
FFS they managed that well then when PEG moans about Spurs home advantage and all that shit. Alty (RAG) fan will take care of things fore sure. That's the rags in the final then!

Unbelievable how a Manc is allowed to ref games involving us and the rags. Surprising that other clubs do not complain or at least those playing the rags especially he is from a rag supporting family. If I was a Spuds fan I would not be too happy.

So that's the rags v Southampton in the final as Atkinson will not let Chelsea get to the final thus making it easier for the rags.

Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon slams Michael Oliver

"Clearly you cannot have a heart in your chest, but a garbage bin. On top of that, if you don't have the character to walk on a pitch like this in a stadium like this, you can sit in the stands with your wife, your kids, drinking your Sprite and eating crisps.

"You cannot ruin the dreams of a team. I could've told the referee anything at that moment, but he had to understand the degree of the disaster he was creating. If you can't handle the pressure and have the courage to make a decision, then you should just sit in the stands and eat your crisps."

Only saw highlights of the Madrid Juve game. Presume there must have been a serious injury game giving 8 mins injury time?
Three minutes signalled and the one was awarded with 35 seconds left. Took over four minutes to send off Buffon, get a sub on, calm everyone down etc. Despite only 35 seconds left Oliver then he played over a minute after the penalty had been scored and the game restarted

Can we all stop talking about decision going against us for the offside calls. It is or isn't offside, none of these were about interfering with play. The referee or linesman got it wrong, it's not debatable it isn't something to argue about it is just wrong. VAR would get this right.

The penalty decisions - Sterling in Liverpool first leg, Sergio in derby, Milner and Sterling in second leg are all decisions that went against us. I think 3 of them were wrong (along with a number of other decisions) but these can go for or against you. Offside is not for or against you it is right or wrong. (Except when it relates to not interfering with play which could be debatable)

We score a perfectly good onside goal and it's given erroneously as offside? That isn't against us? It's wrong and the decision goes against us!

As for VAR getting it right? I am definitely in the VAR camp from the point of view that the shitty reffing we have had this season could not get shittier, but all I see from the application of VAR is the same referee or another referee making a judgment! Hopefully VAR will eradicate some of the errors of the past but there seems to be a reluctance, a heavy doubt from the people who decide and administer the system and I am too suspicious of these people to think that it will in anyway be transparent! Will we get the rugby big screen for the fans to see, or will it be some system installed in an unmarked van somewhere in Phillips Park? I think we will get little benefit from it if it is cloak and dagger implementation, and it is the latter which people like PiGMOl and the FArce would favour - once they've asked David Gill what system he would prefer!

But, surprisingly, he did for once have the courage to make a decision. Conversely, one could say that if you haven't got the sense in a stadium like this, if you can't handle the pressure of a 93min pen, then you should just sit in the stands and eat yer pizza and sup yer ristretto!

What the bottling bastard didn't do was add on the time the stoppage created! He didn't have the courage for that or perhaps he had a vision of Crappenberg in the Dipper derby when he awards a pen to the Redshite and immediately up the other end Lickspittle Carragher takes out Joleoninho! Christ, he thinks, I ain't giving an equalising pen in this stadium, not when all these Madrilenistas are eating their crisps! Kinell, where's me RyanAir boarding pass!"

You are missing the point mate, those decisions were not made in error, some of em Stevie Wonder would have spotted, they were made because there is an agenda against our club, plain and simple, its surprising that some people cant see that, its glaringly obvious...!

He has in the past been surprising. He sent Herrera off in the Cup vs Chelsea ten seconds after telling them to stop kicking Hazard.

I thought they did add the time on last night.

Lol it will get all offsides right, I don’t see your point at all.

Offside is probably the most argued about and controversial part of the game. A change in the law to "clear air" between the players would alleviate most of the really tight decisions and together with VAR it would probably determine near to 100%. It won't be perfect though-nothing ever is. We also have to remember that a change would apply to grass roots football and it would probably ease things for Sunday morning refs as well.
