Back on Topic - any idea of the strategy behind this yet?

I understand the Russians were warned so as to ensure they were not part of any collateral damage - I'd presume they let their ally Assad know?
The bombing was to dissuade Assad from doing it again ( although its reported this could have been up to the 50th use of chemical warfare in that civil war thus far )
What happens in the event of a repeat? Do we bomb again? How will we know that time is Assad? His enemies could do something involving chemicals hoping we blame him and therefore help them further in their fight against Assad?
What happens if stuff gets really shitty for Donald at home and he decides he needs to distract folks and wants to go again? Are we in with him?
Was any of this discussed prior to events?

The strategy is to make Assad and Putin know that chemical weapons won’t be tolerated.

Also Putin is on a mission of seeing how much he and his puppet **** Assad can get away with before trying his latest land grab.

What we have done, perfectly too, is say we won’t tolerate you doing this shit anymore, we’ve called his bluff and saved further men, women and children from receiving chemical attacks that would have been forged in these factories.
