Probably the best big moment player I've seen for us. A unique City legend. 100% penalty record, he looked impervious to the pressure. Thunderbolts from outside the box, free-kicks usually curled beautifully over the wall, those unstoppable breaks, brushing opponents aside, great speed and a cool finish at the end. Will always remember his 20 goal season to help us win the league in 2014. One of our best passers; never seen a player with extreme power and such a graceful control: cushioned first touches, intricate 1-2s in no space at all, hardly ever losing possession and those lovely lofted or threaded through balls. As if playing in his favourite slippers. That's how I'll remember the great man. Thanks and goodbye Yaya!

Top post.

Just musing............How about a massive Cake being trundled onto the centre of the pitch - like the Cake in "Under Siege" -
maybe "not politically correct" for Jordan Tate to give Yaya a kiss,...........lol
Was thinking about this myself.

All top players have an ego but listening to Yaya these last few days, he makes it sound like it's all about him, even now.

He helped carry us for three seasons, I would argue the Club have carried him these last four years.
Couldn't agree more.

Still amazing on his day.

Haha I did notice him take credit for signing Aguero "I told Gary Cook if we sign him we have one of the best strikers in the world".

I think Yaya's mind drifts off when he has to talk, he knows he was important and he is right about that, the rest was struggling to find interesting things to say without repeating yourself to my mind.

i would argue not.
even this season, pep, kept him as an insurance policy or even for his influence in the dressing room. or maybe it was to stop him player/coach at another prem team like arsenal.he may have made a big difference to their mentality, i reckon.

big games, big moments,he was the one player we could rely on.the one player, who we couldn't do without and he more than played his part in all the seasons he has been with us, in one way or another.

even people who slagged him off, held their breath, when he went down, praying he wasn't injured.we probably relied on him too much.

when he played in the thomas cook trophy, every city fan in that stadium, knew he was going to be some player, none expected he would play for us.

i respect your opinion, but i think you are wrong on this occasion.

Magnificent performance from the big man i thought and a magnificent send off.

Superb.

What a fantastic send off, in tears here in front of the screen. Proud to be a City fan! Thanks for everything, Yaya!
