If you actually compare this City side with those "great sides", we are better in every aspect. It's not even close it's laughable.

I am not too sure about that. There was a mid naughties United squad that had Ronaldo, Giggs, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Nani, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Neville, Scholes, Van Der Sar. They got to consective champions league fnals and won consecutive league titles.

We may have beat that team and we probably judge that United team over their whole careers rather than how good they were at that particular point. Yet there is absolutely no way we are currently better than they were, in every aspect.

Now does it mean we are better than other teams in every way. You know MotD usually has the previous year’s champions lifting the trophy as the final part of the opening credits, well, next year it’s going to be a bit of change, it’s going to be a mixture of different winners, as it was getting a bit boring and repetitive...
So, it’s a combo of:
Last years golden boots best moments
The FA cup winners
the CL runners up
A montage paying tribute to the English managers of the PL
British Leylands best red vintage buses with player cameos in hilarious poses
The Harry Kane teams new stadium

And then straight into 2018/2019 prospects with City only scoring 2 goals on the opening day, means that the overhyping over the summer has been bubble burst

Which one of the players I listed would not get in our current team? I have even left Vidic out but you could argue that the 2007 version of Vidic was better than any of our centre backs currently are.

The point I would make is that we are never gonna be given top billing wether it were for a single moment in a game, an entire game or a season. Every time we reach a milestone, and have done it with more style, panache and artistry than any other team, the RDAHMeedya shift the goalposts. We are better than MANUre's title and trophy winning teams, but as JugEars said last night on MotD we have to be serial winners. Bullshine, I call it! They cannot bring themselves to fully acknowledge that there has ever been a football team like ours and their beloved Rags and Dippers are streets ahead 'cos they did it over a lengthier period. The Romans and Greeks lasted a fucking long time but since either of them there's been a lot better stuff that ain't lasted as long! Longevity is not a measure of quality!

That Utd team was absolutely class tbf as hard as it is for me to admit it. Van der sad, Gary neville, Rio, vidic, evra, carrick, Scholes, Ronaldo and rooney would walk into this City team and pep would admit that himself. Personally I have no problems with what Shearer said as I fully understand where he`s coming from.We need to use this year as a stepping stone to prove to one and all that it was not a one off season,as has happened in our previous two PL years when trying to retain the league.
He did use some wonderful words to describe how we`ve played this year but I do understand his using of the word "great" in the context that we need to show consistency over the next couple of years and get back to back PL wins.
No fucker with half a brain cell can say anything else about this seasons remarkable way in which we`ve broken,what is it something like eight different records ?
Lets do it again next season lads and then prove we are truly a great team.
Consistency is all we need and with Pep at the helm he wont let standards drop.
