I don't agree, at all, that City have to repeat it to be classed as great. First of all, next season we will have different players, rivals will have different managers, etc. So seasons can't really be compared

Second of all, in what other field are people told to repeat once in a life time achievements? Did Shawshank Redemption have a sequel? No. What about the bloke who invented electricity? No one told him that 'its a good idea, but what else have you got'...
 
Arsenals invincibles are lauded as a great team did they win the league the next season? No they did not.

But isn't it usually the ex-players of the previously successful teams who start this rhetoric , followed by the Rag/Dipper loving media ?

Its over one season. A magnificent season it is and as I said, this team will go down in history as the greatest ever team over one single season.

Now I still do not think, as good as we have been that this team would beat the United team of 2006-08. I would take their defence over ours and their attack over ours.
We have broke all the records for a single season but that rag team won consecutive league titles and reached consecutive champions league finals.

Now we may go on to retain the title and reach champions league finals, but at this precise moment, regardless of the records we have broken, I do not think our current team is the best I have seen in premier league history
 
Best part of last night's show was Killing Moon at the end tbh.

But their attack is clearly not as good as ours. There are indisputable facts that disprove your argument. And VDS over Ederson-simply no, becauase Ederson has almost become the 11th player in the team, rather than 1+10.

Different set of standards for us. But putting their bias aside, we need to win the League next season as we failed both times to retain it previously. Back to back league wins have become uncommon in the PL, and doing it will be something special.
 
I don't get this need to win multiple times to be a great team. We just obliterated almost every record and we did it playing a beautiful brand of football. This team is the greatest ever premier league team.
 
I didn't know that the States has their own MOTD, but might as well have been another exclusive show they have. I enjoyed this regardless

Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez is better than Aguero, Jesus, and any other of our forwards that you wish to include. They won a champions league and a title, we won a title and league cup. They defended the title and reached another champs league final. Would we have got 100 points if we had progressed in the champs league.
I would rather have a champs league win than 100 points.
Now after seeing both teams, I think that United team would beat our current team. We may go on to be the greatest ever team, but at present I think we are behind that United team.
