Riyad Mahrez

Bernardo will be a year wiser for next season, stronger and I’d suggest more of a goal threat. It won’t be great coming off the back of a World Cup, however Oct/Nov he’ll kick on and in my opinion will be one of our stand out performers next year...

I don’t particularly believe we need a Mahrez, good player but if you’re gonna buy, you do so with having better than is already here and we aren’t exactly under stocked...

Looking at the purchase seems to point towards sterling spending more time through the middle, I can live with that but something doesn’t sit right with this one for me, now Hazard??? Different entirely
The squad needs 3 senior wingers to rotate, otherwise 1 injury would force to change tactics or use youngsters.
As for Hazard, I think if he comes it will be at Aguero's expense. Hazard would play centrally under Guardiola, have little doubt about it.
Bernardo was initially bought as Silva's heir.

We know hazard will not become available to us and if he does move on it will be to Real Madrid . I’m abit mixed with Mahrez because I’d like him but wouldn’t want it to affect Bernardo’s progress .

The problem with that is that sterlings finishing is still woeful and showing no signs of improving. His improvement in positioning in the 6 yd area has led to his increase in goals but as a central striker.....no thanks...we need better

Afraid I agree here. Most of Raheem's goals are tap ins due to great runs and timing but when I think of his level as an out and out striker through the middle, the two chances he fluffed in the derby come to mind.

Great player and nobody would be happier than me if he proved me wrong on that.

As for Mahrez, no doubt he'd be brilliant at opening up tight defences with his bag of tricks. Would be very pleased with adding him to the squad.

Do you reckon we might see Bernardo more through the middle this season? I've always looked at him as long term replacement for Merlin.

Hope so as I think he is top drawer and at £43 million a steal. David silva I think will slowly start to take a backward step to this season to probably and rightly spend time with his family and hopefully Bernardo will come through. After the World Cup he will be wanted by everyone .

Not sure if this would be including add-ons? As the market has gone crazy and players like Van Dijk are going for 75mil, this seems fair market value for a proven forward in the prem....lets get it done!

Manchester City and Leicester are close to agreeing a fee of £75m for winger Riyad Mahrez. [Leicester Mercury]
Yes I totally agree.People on here will disagree about the valuation but its down to the people at our Club who I fully support.Pep has been after Mahrez for some time and I trust his decision that this is another player who could and hopefully will be able to help this team successfully defend the PL title.

I'll be very happy if we sign Mahrez but I would have preferred Hazard if choosing between the two.

I think the thing is, Mahrez is a quality player who gives us more of a goal threat, but is willing to rotate with the players we already have. It's all about balancing the squad.

I'm usually on the "who cares about transfer fees" side but 75m seems a bit high for a guy who will be 28 halfway through the season.

Is the first part of the sentence an indicator to take the second part of the sentence with a grain of salt?

Not really. I wouldn’t be a fan if I didn’t think he was very good.

I think after Hazard he’s the player in the PL I’m most unhappy about having the ball against us.
