Dunno,horses for courses really I suppose,has a cracking game v some lower opposition defenders week before,then in a big game,week after,(in on his last performance) as someone put earlier,fluffs his lines,the derby for some reason always springs to mind,and at Wembley v Spurs,oh and away at Burnley,too many to mention.

If Mahrez joins,and by Christ I hope he does,then yea going forward,squad player or cash in ???
 
I really, really rate Sterling as a player. However, he's replaceable - whereas KDB isn't.

It would set a bad precedent to give him parity with Kev and we'd be held to ransom by every agent. It's just an awkward one as I highly doubt that any club would pay us his true value, then he'll just run his contract down and go wherever he wants.

Spurs at Wembley where he scored to put us 3 1 up and won a penalty? Thats the best you can do?

Sterling contract thing. I believe he has a desire to play for Madrid one day. I suspect his camp know that a contract extension will make that very expensive. Hence the stalled talks. If he goes he’ll get replaced. Until then he’s ours. This is football.

Was the home game against Spurs a 'big game'? How about the two games against Napoli, big games?

That's the issue here,over protective,if he was to leave us this summer,would you give a fuck where he went,or followed his career? Would you fuck

So basically he's hesitant to commit without getting something back. Can't blame him. I would want to leave the country too!
 
We wouldn't have had this problem if we had Mourinho. Jose would have had Raheem playing so poorly we would've just sold him.

It's just a business negotiation,it's not meant to be straight foward,no-one is in the room just an agent doing his job and our people ,relax people it's just another day with a deal being thrashed out as it's supposed to be,we'll probably never get the full figures just the outcome

We can all pick out scenarios from the season gone,plusses and minuses,so tell me this he scored 18 goals (in the league) last season,how many do you think he SHOULD have scored ? And try to be honest
 
I wouldn't be unhappy with Sané and Mahrez as our main wingers but I am curious to see how good Sterling can become under Guardiola.

Well every player has bad games. You maimed he went missing in big games. Burnley away is not a big game.
The derby he played well in, yes he missed those chances. Okay.

That is 2 games. Now let me tell you about the big games that he performed in:
Napoli home and away in the champions league - best team we have played all season and he was superb.
Spurs - racially abused and assaulted in the morning, 2 goals in the evening.
Chelsea away - part of a brilliant team performance, had bakayoko and Alonso on toast.
Arsenal at home - terrorised their defence and won a penalty
He was injured or suspended for the games against Liverpool at home, Chelsea at home and arsenal away and the league cup final. Bad luck

Yes we can all pick, in fact one of the games you picked he was man of the match.

The Burnley one was the only real sitter, the two in the rags game were good chances that he snatched at, not sitters.

Considering some of the unexpected goals he scored I'd say he exceeded even the most confident expectations.
 
If the goal of whoever leaked this was to get a reaction, well it's worked judging by this thread.

Just to let you know,believe it or not Burnley is now classed as a big game,top 7 club,even bigger game when we draw 1-1 and a tap in from 1 yard is missed yea,and they equalise in last 10 mins

The rags were sitters,I'd have backed anyone in that starting 11 that day to score both of those,including Ederson,so how many are you saying ? Or are you content with the 18 he did score ?
