He has a contract for another year so he is entitled to see that out,why do people always expect footballers to give up money they are entitled to,no other job would you expect somebody to do that
I know you're a fan of his Kaz; I have no problem with that. Did you actually read my post though? I acknowledged the contract situation. But I'll say now; if he's prepared to sit out the remainder of his contract for the cash (which he's legally entitled to do), rather than do what it takes to secure first team football, then he's not the man I thought he was. Time will tell, I guess.

You would be asking him to give up a couple of million quid,no-one in their right mind would do that, the best thing would be for the club to pay up the last year of his contract and he is free to go and do what he has to do with a new club,i am a fan and he was with us for 10yrs and so helped take us from nothing to something,i wish all of our players who were key to that the very best and will think fondly of them all(exept sammi as he was a lazy sod)

His time has passed. He was a great servant to the club but his latitude when Pep arrived was arrogant. I agree with Karen. Release him from his contract and wave farewell. Not sure we should pay him off though. I am sure he would make up any losses with a signing on fee.

What dross!

Contracts are two way agreements.

No way is he walking away without some financial agreement.

Fighting a losing battle there mate.

As you’ve put he’s legally entitled to sit out and take the cash. What it does do is probably show why his career has gone down the pan. If you’re a professional athlete you’d do what it takes to stay top of your game. If you would sit out for money then sums up your professionalism. He could quite easily join a lower team on less money and try and regain his England spot and people’s opinions of him. If he chooses money over grafting then so be it, it’s not like he will be on minimum wage elsewhere

He has a contract so we wait a year or pay it up and part ways

Think of it another way, say it's £5m he's giving up. Is the next 5-8 years of his career worth more than that. If he rots for another year and continues to regress as he seems to be, he'll worth nothing to anybody.
He might make £5m if he stays, if he does that's likely the end of his career. If he gambles, he might make £2m else where, and then £3-£4m for the season's following. Thus being long term better off, not to mention actually playing.

He's got plenty of till, for me, he'd be better off gambling and backing himself. I personally think he's good enough to relaunch his career, if he stays I fear he'll never get that chance.
I hope he backs himself, at 31(?) football should still mean more to him.

Is he a gambling man though?

There is no giving it up,he has a contract, going by the way we treat our long term players i expect we will pay up his contract and part with a handshake,i don't see it going any other way,i don't see how it would be the the end of his career if he goes out on loan for another season,he has no need to gamble he has a contract end of really,i know money in football doesn't mean much anymore but what sane person would give up millions of pounds

We could be here til midnight, and we won't agree. I'm not going to alter my views on what Hart should do. And you're obviously not going to either.

He's not giving up on millions though is he? Look at what I said. It's his choice, his gamble. He's fully entitled to stay and get his money. I'd personally back myself and look to get a move and rebuild my career. Loads of players have left with contract still remaining for less money. They do it to rebuild their career or play regularly.
If everyone had the mentality you're suggesting, we'd still have Jovetic, Fernando, Garcia et al.

Hart needs to get his career back on track asap, his best bet is go back himself and leave. Much like I'd expect Mangala to do.

What dross!

Perhaps he could make more from a signing on fee than sitting on his arse for a year on his wages. If he can find a deal we could release as mutually beneficially. Hardly dross. Why the arrogant attitude?

I've never heard anyone that is in favour of the Danny Mills or Winston Bogarde. Sure everyone is entitled to their contact. But I'd hoped Joe was a different beast to Danny Mills.
He should be looking for the first train out of town in order to rebuild his career.

Another year on loan will not hurt him and he has no need to gamble, like i keep saying i'm sure an arrangement will be made with the club next month that see's his contract ended with both sides happy

I get the feeling she is trying to say he is entitled to his contract money and who would give that up. I think thats maybe the point. We could do with some clarity really. If people have a point to make repeating it 10 times isn’t enough I feel.

Joe will probably earn £10mil if he sees out the final year of his contract with us. There will be substantial loyalty bonuses as well as a salary of at least £6mil. It will be a result if we let Joe go on a free and avoid making a pay off.

Leeds are looking for a keeper and I think Joe hasn’t shown Prem form for a few years. Joe would need to show he has become more comfortable on the ball to impress Bielsa.
