No natter how good this kid supposidly is?
Well I'd normally agree with you, but hey, we're picking bad uns at the moment.

Well if he's that good we wouldn't have been looking to put a £50m signing in front of him to block his chances of ever playing for us, would we? Or perhaps more importantly, he'd not have joined our EDS because he'd have first team offers elsewhere.

More likely the kid is being looked at as someone who might develop into being capable of taking Fernandinho's squad place in 2 years.

Real Madrid want the cash to bag Neynar.
So how about Toni Kroos? The only German who came away from the world cup with any credit.
He did nothing apart from score that free kick mate, be honest.

The last thing I want to see at City is someone who, because they’ve already won every major honour in the game, feels he doesn’t need to be ar*ed, and is just coming for one last pay day.

I honestly don't think it was a cock up on our part, or that it was a money issue (remember our bid was accepted), or even that he preferred to live in London. All of those are smoke screens for the real reason. He wanted to continue to play for Sarri, the manager who he florished under. I also think he will get more guaranteed playing time at chelsea and Sarri will likely make him central to his Chelsea plans.

Very well played by Pep and Cheeky, we leave this alone as we want to field an attacking 7!

..................Ederson...........

.........Walker.....Stones......Laporte...

....Sterling.....KDB......Silva.......Sane...

.......Mahrez........Kun........Jesus.....

If City had been in the same position as Chelsea we would have done the same. Sarri is one of the best managers in Europe and we saw that first hand. He'll make Chelsea a threat. The issue they'll have is time, it might take 2 season for them to win the league again.
In the meantime we're looking the strongest by far, Liverpool are improving but not enough for a league win, United need an elite player (which I can't rule out) but at the moment they'll flounder again. Spurs will prepare to fail.. I think new stadium blues see them finish 6th, and Kane/Trippier get itchy feet.

I don't mean this confrontationally as emotions are running a bit high right now understandably, but who are the similar/better targets? I haven't heard any linked to us.
To be honest, until we were linked with him I'd never noticed him before. Our interest in my eyes came a bit left field, so in that respect I'd imagine there are other targets we had our mind on as well as Jorginho. I imagine our player acquisition team will have other targets identified, so we'll all just have to sit tight & see what falls out of the bag when it's shaken again.

As for my opinion of who we should go for, most of them I imagine would be realistically unattainable. One thing we won't do is collapse as a club just because another player has turned tail & headed for another club on better terms. This has happened to us before, & it'll happen to us again, but it had no effect on our record breaking season just gone.

I know he’s young but this new kid from psg could be our answer after all.. you guys gotta remember sane was only 19 when he broke into the side and with foden likely to feature more I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea of having that new kid as a back up..

I was wonrering about this one.

Because presumably he wouldn't have come here without some kind of assurances about at least getting a chance, if he was already close to getting games at PSG.

And Sarri will give him more hours on the pitch, here he'll have to fight. Apart from Cante he'll walk right in.

Despite the reputable City sources leaking the brief stating it was from our end of things?

OK.

I'm sure the club will brief that we're no longer interested 30 minutes after he's posed with a Chelsea shirt.

Everything is possible, but I am not sure whats the added value for City to leak this info ?

The leak serve everyone but the buyer.

Sarri is one of the best managers in Europe

I think the jury is very much out on that !!

At nearly 60 years old Napoli is the only big job he has ever had and he’s only been there 3 seasons... and in his managerial career he’s won a grand total of ZERO major trophies
