But do we need him? Only if he plays in Dinho's position imo - if he comes as an 8 we'll have him, KDB, Silva, Gundogan, pot. Bernardo. When's Foden ever going to get a game?
think he and gundogan will rotate at 6 and 8 dont expect fernandinho to play much next season neither will silva.

Silva was our second best player last year. I doubt anyone has played more minutes under Pep than Fern. They might play somewhat less, but they sure as shit are going to play plenty of minutes.

If Thiago signed for the rags or dippers we would be pissed!! If there is a chance of getting him we should do it without question

Slight worry about his injury record but he's a top player, so if the price is right...

Who does everyone think is better: Isco or Thiago?

Transfermarkt.de writes that Bayern will let Thiago leave. No official price is mentioned but they speculate that 70 million Euros is what Bayern would like to get. Thiago wants to go back to Barca and take Iniestas squad place. Apparently Barca is interested but at a lower price.

Sounds like City is not in front of the queue.

He is one of my favourite players. I fear he will end up at Man Utd or Spurs. Amazingly gifted player. Surprised Bayern are prepared to let him go.

He didn't play that big a role for Bayern last season though, plus they are stocked in midfield. Says something about how Bayern see him, doesn't it?

Seen one headline that says "United eye Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara, but Bale bid is on ice"

Bale must be gutted.

I think that 70m Euros is too much but I'd love him in the squad. Anywhere in the region of 50m seems reasonable based on Jorginho's price.

On the plus size if I recall it was Pep who took him to Bayern so they know each other well. On the downside I just hope that he isnt the next Owen Hargreaves maybe we should heed previous warnings about the fitness of players. Just my opinion Pep has said Silva wont play as much as last year and that Fern needs support so an extra player who could be rotated would be ideal to share the load. On this I just trust Pep.

Hard to say who is the best midfielder in the game at the moment but Thiago and Isco are up there.

We are at the point in the pre-season now where chancers like Spurs move into gear, and I am still expecting Utd to spend another £100m at least - unless they have lost all faith in Mourinho. It's tempting to want City to buy a Thiago or Isco just to keep them out of enemy hands but I think we're done and Spurs and Utd are going to dominate the remaining three weeks of the window.

I'm not sure Spurs have ever dominated a few weeks of the transfer window except when they had the Bale money.

It's not. It's Kevin De Bruyne.
