Early seventies. My earliest memory was of seeing us play Burnley in a Charity Shield game at Maine Road somewhere around '72 or '73. I've seen some wretched stuff dished up in my time.

i know i am an old git and many young blues wont remember but 1984-85 Micky Walsh We went to Newcastle that season as joint favourites for promotion from the old second division They had Kevin Keegan and we had the in form Jim Tolmie As i read the Sun on A Coach that morning it was a battle between the two. It actually turned out a battle between Keegan and Beardsley of who would score the most Poor Walshie was ripped to pieces totally out of his depth as we were murdered 0-5 i dont think he ever recovered
