Worst City player you've seen live/worst City squad

Mark is a top lad and a big blue what he lacked in ability he more than made up for with effort. I always remember one of his first goals for city in front of the north stand a really scruffy effort but he celebrated like all his dreams had come true

Surprised to read Mark Lillis in this thread- he was decent for City and his guts and determination and a smattering of skill helped keep us up after promotion. He was a good player at the time. Was gutted when he was swapped for Trevor Christie to be honest and we lost a lot in him leaving.

Trevor Fuckin Christie... completely forgot about that waster

Mark Lillis was 10 times the player he was

Many players from 96-99 but chiefly
Margetson
Van Blerk
Badbuy
Wassall
McGoldrick
Conlon

But the worst in terms of being a let down was Ged Brannan because he did it for Tranmere and Ipshit but HID in a City shirt.

Other eras:
Gordon Dalziel (groan)
Geoff Lomax (sorry as he’s actual a Blue)
Mike Walsh (yikes)
McManaman (don’t start me)
Gerry fuckin Creaney - to think we swapped Walshie for HIM...waster.

Charvet’s attitude stunk as well

Striker Daley wasn't the worst but was a huge letdown for a(then) record 1.4mil from Wolves in 79. He played about 2 seasons scoring only a handful of goals iirc, then sold to some American club for a fraction of what he cost us. Big money squandered by Swales with ex coach Malcolm Allison as manager also allowed to sign Michael Robinson for about 750k. Chicken feed today but in those days was big money for a player. Allison was never a manager and we were doing ok under Tony Book, but Swales always thought he knew best. He constantly steered the good ship MCFC adrift from the scousers and rags onto the rocks with one calamity after another. Swales was the main reason we've ended up with so many shit players mentioned in here.

Younger fans have no idea what we had to put up with back then. I shudder to think back sometimes just how bad things were. We were there when we were shit alright! : (

+1 , Lillis was superb in his one season , if he has been mentioned in this thread then there are some seriously clueless people on this forum
