I think you are right on this point. People like Sam particularly when they are on the tour - tow the line more than ever because they get a lot of access to the senior management team and they want to build bridges with the club and open up the lines of communication.

No one on this forum has a clue what goes on behind closed doors but everyone thinks they do ! As stated Juventus spent £99million on Ronaldo and money dosnt grow on trees, well as far as Fifa fair play is concerned.

Primarily because I think he is very content playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world in a country largely preferred by Balkan players. Also, we don't seem like the club that will throw 80-85m pounds around to make a deal after our primary target went elsewhere. It reeks of media and agents putting 2 and 2 together for their own interests.

If Pjanic was a possibility and City were interested then he would've been our #1 target and not Jorginho. The fact that we didn't even get Jorginho probably tells you about the availability of Pjanic.

Yeah, we are certainly being used for better contract for him, unfortunately. If we weren't prepared to pay more than £50m for Jorginho then there is no chance we will pay more than that for alternative. Its going to be a low key signing like Bentancur for example (if we sign someone). Young and potentially fairly cheap.
