- - all on tour - either States or Indonesia(Singapore).
Do the clubs get a wedge from ? uefa?.

They get a wedge from the promoters/organisers of the tournament. There was an article in Mundo the other day claiming City and other participants in the ICC get €15m each.

I understand your reasoning. Personally I'm not too bothered if he stays or not, as long as Foden gets a chance. Díaz shouldn't be given an increased role in the team until he starts passing a little more and conceding possession a little less.

Totally agree, Diaz looks like he would fit in at utd. Well he would if he was 6' 6".

Friendlies were always a weird one for money, but in the last 20 years clubs saw an opportunity to not only expand the brand and get themselves 'seen' abroad, but also to make a tidy wedge from sponsors (also sponsors now have a heavy say in clubs going abroad). United were streets ahead in foreign tours.

Recent years have seen a massive rise in the money sloshing around friendlies. The International Champions Cup is basically a conglomerate of sponsors who pay for teams to attend - i think we got about £10m last summer (Real, Barca got up to £20m), dunno about this season but probably more. I have no idea what say they have in what players should attend but at the moment (!) i'm guessing the clubs still hold that power.

I had a look at spurs v Roma earlier,aside from the english and belgium lads spurs had a strong team out,i think giving our lads extended come back when you are ready holidays is going to bite us in the arse

Pep gave them loads of time off during the season last year which kept them fresh,him saying don't come back until you are ready i can sort of see what he is getting at but who wants to cut your summer holiday down if you are offered more time off,bernie said he was asked to come back a bit earlier and was happy to,benny is in the states,john said he is going to come back a bit earlier for the chavs game but where are sergio and nico for example?

I agree our Argies could/should be back. They weren't involved longer at the World Cup than for example Salah. So yes strange that. I am just hoping we will profit from this in the long end of the season.
