Would it have been so hard to take the color from the stripe in the 2nd kit and make a kit out of that? When did all the fucking orange and purple and crazy shit start...and more importantly, WHY?

First: Sky
Second: Dark (Navy with sash?! Ah the good old days!)
Third: White with sash

Easy as pie

Why can't we have something like that (the kit, not the player)? We had that basic design back in the 1970s; how come Palace got hold of it off us?

Malcolm Allison. He liked it at City so copied it when he went to Palace. It's weird now to think of managers and coaches influencing kits like Allison wanting City to look like AC Milan and Revie wanting Dirty Leeds to look like Real Madrid.

Ive only seen a poor picture of the new purple shirt but it’s clearly better than that abomination of a kit we wore at Wembley in ’99 - highlighter pen yellow and black stripes, MINGING!

Many still own it to remind us of how far we have come.

It was iconic for one reason it was the kit we wore when we dragged our bollocks out of the depths.

Most older fans prefer sky blue, white shorts, blue socks (navy or sky with maroon), black and red striped away and white with sash third.

IMO do what they want with the third and change the away from black and red to maroon or white with sash but keep the home kit relevant and happy days.

Most younger fans love the extreme colours we have had, orange, purple, ghost green etc and these fans need keeping on board so use third for that.

That's true but the 3rd shirt is known as the European away kit these days isn't it so that's probably why they don't mind it being dark like the away kit. I miss the recent Umbro days when the away kit would become the 3rd kit the following season. 2 seasons worth from one shirt purchase haha

In an ideal world, yes. However, the reason we very rarely have Red and Black striped away kits is because they are really low sellers in comparison to other away kits. True story

Yep. Club always say it's a poor seller. Doing it about once every years is probably about right.
