Hope we get a work permit for Douglas Luiz, he should be enough to see us through to January, in the meantime line up a suitable defensive midfielder and keep his name under wraps to prevent us doing the scouting for the scum/chavs.

We have a terrific squad of players with one glaring weakness- a single DM who is 33 and ironically averages 33 league games a season. He has also been swamped the last 3 matches against our most likely rivals this season.

It’s definitely a concern considering the two senior players most likely to cover- Delph isn’t a good enough passer to play there and Gundogan has a habit of going missing when we’re swamped- especially at Anfield.

The fact that we can add players to the Champions League should mean we only have to get by until January as long as Dinho doesn’t get badly injured.

So whoever it was we were trying to get over the line has either gone elsewhere or decided to stay where he was or perhaps wanted to come but his club wanted too much money .

It is a bit baffling that we realized we had a problem at DM last January hence the interest in Fred. Fair enough suddenly the chance to buy Laporte came along so we moved on to Jorghino. Presumably we had a plan B given the importance of this position within the team.

I'm yes on Illiramendi's abilities. But in fairness, I didn't consider his age. Nzonzi I knew to be too old and not as talented.

Did he...just watched it and I didn't hear him say that though my stream was stuttering a bit

I heard him say that Ilky can play there but he prefers to play him further forward due to his scoring ability with arriving in the box (ala Scholes)....a bit like Scholes as well is that Ilky cannot tackle either!

Pep will turn John Stones into a world class defensive midfielder. He has all the attributes needed.
