De Bruyne injury - Back in Training (p89)

KdB is our best player and we will undoubtedly miss him and probably have a relative drop in performance because he is so good. But any suggestions that this injury indicates a lack of cover and poor business in the summer is complete nonsense.Attacking midfield with Silva, Gundogan, Bernardo, Foden and Zinchencko is probably our best equipped position on the pitch.

We're fine without him, in fact this could be a blessing in disguise for Phil Foden to get a run in the team. I am selfishly gutted though because I cannot recall a player Ive ever enjoyed watching more than him. Prime Yaya perhaps comes close, but every game he has at least one or two moments that blow my mind.

Spanish Dave?

Mahrez is the one. He can pass all day and probably carries just as much goal threat as KDB from free-kicks and being able to drive the edge of the penalty area.

Certainly better than Gundogan.

Must admit I don't see Mahrez playing quite as deeply as Kev but we'll see what Pep does.

4 months out now according to sources close to KDB who are talking to Sky sports - leave it until tomorrow and he'll be out for the season!!

the show must go on and somebody else to step up

KDB is just about the best player in the premier league and europe and losing him is a big blow, but so was mendy at left wingback last season and delph stepped up its about playing other ways that the team can understand and hurt the others and maybe harder to read by the other clubs, and when there plans are fucked up when they have setup to defend and worked on manchester city tac/tik's with KDB in it and don't just know how we are lining up

Nah that’s sky trying to dramatise it. Five minutes ago sources close to KDB we’re saying 2 to 4 months... what a surprise that Sly go with the worst case scenario

Digesting this is shit

He will certainly be missed but I just hope he gets all the time he needs to recover

No point in rushing things we need him recovered not part recovered and it will be no good to Kev rushing back either

It'll be as long as it needs to take. I'd wager ten weeks at most, there's absolutely no need to rush a relapse with the amazing squad we have.

If nothing else, when we win the title again this season we can remind everyone we were without our best player.

Just in time for him to be fresh for the Champs League final.
