Lingard, Jesus wept, he's at least two levels below. Honestly if you think he's anywhere near our level, football isn't for you.

We have fans not sure about Gundogan & Mahrez, Lingard isn't even comparable to them. Not even close.

I can't personally understand anyone rating Rashford, but that's not as wild as fucking Lingard.

One of a number of "team of the week" he has been in.

I am not saying he is maradona ffs. But he has potential

You do know he's about to turn 26 right? If he were 18 or 19 you might be right that he's got potential but he'd still never get in our side because his big asset is being a pair of lungs who will work hard for José and that's not enough here..

He'll go the way of Tom Cleverley when Jose leaves. Transfer to a midtable club, fail, transfer to a lower table club, bounce around a bit, maybe find his place in another midtable side.

i would love somebody to start speaking the truth and its a simple answer manchester city are why united are in such a mess anything else is just lies

jose and the players and the club is so far behind manchester city and our players and manager and owners, even the youth academy is about 10 years behind, they never once's built something for the future under last 2 years of fergie, it was all built for fergie farewell and one last title, so now they have to settle for 2nd best in everything even feeding of the scraps we throw them that's the real problem

even if they had the france team that won the world cup at united they still be second best that's how far manchester city are in front of the old moaning neighbors, and then you have liverppool spurs chelsea and arsenal all going in the right direction and looking to the future, so united are in a mess that maybe can not be fixed

That's a fair point. Which is a shame for him because just when he hit his peak "Potential" he got lumped with possibly the worst manager for bringing players on.

I do like rashford though. He has a good eye for the goal (which is hard to teach) but does seem a bit lost on the pitch at times (which can be taught).

He is hardly shit. I think anyone saying that is not being impartial.

I also saw this and thought I'd look into it - but haven't got round to it! One for @Prestwich_Blue ?

I think you can go over 7% if it's funded by a rise in non-tv revenue. Turnover in total rose slightly, so maybe that's covered the extra 4%.

I have looked at this and the increase in their commercial revenue over the relevant period fully covers the rise in wages.

This is the point people are trying to highlight for you. He is bang average and any half decent performance is lauded to the hilt.
This is not a new phenomenon, it's happened for years.

Lingard is 26 soon, he's not scored since February, and let's not be too dismissive of United they did actually finish 2nd last season.
He got loads of game time.

Lingard is a very average footballer, Watford/Palace levels at best.

I bet you can't even say what his position is, that's not a dig because he doesn't actually have one. He's a rank average 'Jack of all trades, master of non".

He's 18 months ahead of where Bernardo is currently & at the same stage of his career as De Bruyne was at the start of last season.
Just think about that, he's nearly two full football seasons more 'developed' than Bernardo.

As a stock analyst, I enjoy reading financial filings, and found this change in the language in their 20F year-over-year quite interesting:

We remain committed to attracting and retaining the highest quality players and key football management staff for our first team. REMOVED: Our average annual net player capital expenditure over the last 10 years has been £52.1 million (excluding the sale of a player in the year ended 30 June 2009 that generated significant cash inflow, the average annual net player capital expenditure over the same period would have been £60.1 million), and we continue to expect it to vary significantly from period to period. ADDED: Our average annual net registrations capital expenditure over the last 5 years has been £104.1 million and we continue to expect it to vary significantly from period to period.

IMO only, this is their auditors saying the prior-used language/timeframe selected is misleading relative to current conditions/expenditure.

yeah, even my United mate, was stunned and had to check on google that instant whenI said Lingard was 26 a couple of months ago.

For some reason I thought he was 20/21. I'm pretty sure I'd never heard of him until Van Gaal's last season, in 2016. And I assumed he was a kid at the time.

26 is insane. Must have been a late bloomer.

Some Lingard stats:
He will be 26 in December.

He has played 128 games in; PL, FA cup, and CL, Europa L.
Scored 19 goals in those games, 14 assists.
0.15 goals per game
0.11 assists per game

Same on Raheem
He will be 24 in December.

He has played 259 games in; PL, FA cup, and CL, Europa L.
Scored 66 goals in those games, 68 assists.
0.26 goals per game
0.26 assists per game

OK lol. I'll not push the point on Lingard lol.

You lot think he is overachieving and average at best, i thought he looked ok during the WC.
