Quite simply we should just play our normal game , it would be nice for once to get our noses in front and see how they react when they are chasing the game ,we are long overdue a result and the pressure is now all on the Dippers , they have spent £300m in 18 months and Klopp has to deliver , no title for 28 years is becoming a millstone round their scally necks. Its a big game for the Dippers its their cup final , if they lose to us on Sunday its back to square one for them and all the misguided optimism is nipped in the bud

I think we are going to get hammered. No shame in losing to them at Anfield though. Just don’t think we are the team to beat them at the moment as we play right in their hands.

Time for some long overdue pragmatism at that fucking dump. Wind the ****s up early doors, slow it down, waste time, don’t try daft passes while they’re hounding us at the start full of energy, exaggerate fouls, roll around on the floor, frustrate them and pounce after we’ve weathered the storm

Unfortunately I can only see 1 outcome and it's a dippers win, 1 win there in the last 15 years doesn't bode well, and even peps comments on the prime documentary saying Liverpool are so powerful doesn't help, I don't know what our hang up is at there place, yet we slag the scum but even they can go there and beat the twa*s

I’d certainly take a draw

We have to match their aggression and avoid silly mistakes. They will be so up for this one although I hope an attritional evening in Napoli and the pressure to deliver on Sunday Will take its toll. We are long overdue a win there. It’s the one remaining hoodoo we have!

Hopefully Gundogans hamstring rules him out of this one. Generally wish him no Ill will and certainly not long term injury, just don't think he is the right selection for this game and a mild injury will take the option out of peps hands. This is the type of game we miss a really quick left back like early career clichy (but with a football brain). Mendy isn't slow but he isn't in the same bracket as Walker for pace either. Would be good to have that option.

Pretty sure that Anelka winner was a 3 o'clock kick off. Sadly there's zero chance of ever having another of them when we go to Anfield.

Bet their fans barely raised their voices during that match.

I'd start mahrez because Sterling always has a mare against liverpool.

Walker-----Otamendi-----Laporte-----Mendy
-----------------------Fernandinho
Mahrez------BSilva-----------DSilva-------Sane
----------------------------Aguero

I'd settle for a draw away and batter them at home.

To have a chance Aymeric needs license to play those raking long passes to break the press and Ederson needs to use some of his party tricks too.

Alternatively if we try to solidify the midfield and Mendy is still injured:

Walker-----Otamendi-----Laporte-----Danilo
-------------Fernandinho----Stones
Mahrez-------------------Silva-----------------Sane
-----------------------------Aguero

Walker can overlap with Mahrez cutting inside and Danilo can underlap with Sane staying wide. Stones can help out Fernandinho and Danilo defending.
I'm starting to lean towards a double pivot being the way to go.

If Delph was back i'd play him left back and Laporte centre back. Laporte wasn't great tonight but think Zinchenko will struggle more vs Salah.

Can't get Bernardo in that line up, think Fern needs Stones' help in this one, which means its him or Merlin.
Problem is none of our options at left back have a great deal of pace. Even Mendy isn't lightning quick like Walker on the other side.

I think that's the only team in the world we're playing against and our fans are buying a draw.
So hard to win there in Anfield, I still think we have a good chance of doing it if the lineup looks like this:

Ederson
stones kompany laporte
walker --------------------------------------------mendy
dinho
B.silva D.silva
jesus and aguero
I think we have to find a spot for Sane, we need his speed and ability to ghost past defenders

Is City at Anfield the biggest fixture in the league? If City can get this monkey off their back it would be the first step in turning the PL into the Bundesliga where everybody not in sky blue is playing for 2nd every year.

I always feel that Anfield and Stamford Bridge are our toughest away games of the year. We have such a good record at The Swamp these days that it barely registers but Anfield and Stamford Bridge still feel like fortresses and given the way this year is unfolding those are both going to be key games.
