Ideal scenario for me: The fans and media will all be behind him today and the club are forced before the game to issue a statement saying he’s staying no matter the result.

Then it’s a boring 0-0 first half and the fans and commentators start turning. And a last minute winner for Newcastle pushes the fans to a frenzy of abuse.

And the circus plays on...

I think for the circus to play on we need everything you’ve said to happen but for it to end 0-0. Fans are disgruntled but not suicidal.

Then it will drag on for a bit till we destroy them in the derby then they sack him. Give it to Giggs and the show goes on...

Don’t think he wants to be saved seems to me he wants sacking with the big pay off then he can go somewhere nice and hot for 3 months.

It's almost Defintely from his camp. His camp were the ones who leaked the Van Gaal sacking on the day that Van Gaal won them the FA cup (to take away the shine from Van Gaal) and here, it is he who stands to gain from a leak and United's hierarchy stand to lose from it. As you said ,no announcement could be made before Monday.

This was an attempt to garner public sympathy from Mourinho. And for all I know, it might work. We already saw Gary Neville lap it up and cry about the mayrt that is Mourinho including saying how "sad" he'll be that Mourinho is going to be sacked.

Is pretty much how I see it.

Neville was right in much of what he said but in respect of Maureen he is way off. The only surprise is that he seems surprised. Maureen has form for this 3rd season collapse. He's poison and the football world knows it, unless you Gary Neville.
