De Bruyne injury - Back in Training (p89)

Fern will be fine until January, will give us everything he's got.

That way, the set-up can be to rest Dave, and complete the midfield with Bernardo and Kev.

Personally, when he's got a bit more meat on him, I think Foden could do an amazing job there.

I decided to watch a bit more of this lad Ndombele. He's perfect for us in many ways.
Ive watched more myself, and i think he could be.

Right now he is raw and he's still a tad awkward, but there is no denying the physique and the ability are there.

Cannot wait to see Kev back on the pitch. Reckon he'll get around half an hour against Burnley? Or should he start?

Thought he was Lyon's best player, against us.

No; definitely not. Ease him back into the first team. As others have already said, maybe 15-20 minutes at the end of the game.

Whether he starts or not, he'll have been in first team training for a month before the Burnley game, he's not been rushed.

I think the idea that a player has to play only 15-20 minutes as a sub on return from injury is very outdated.

With Shakhtar away a few days later, I think it’s better that he plays 15-20 minutes vs Burnley then starts Shakhtar, 6 days rest then starts against Spurs.

But yea the idea is outdated, I agree, we saw Mendy came straight back in for the full 90 min, and it’s not the first time.

Just checked. Doesn't look like KDB in Belgium squad. They have 2 games: Switzerland Friday, and Netherlands next Tues.

Probably better he stays at City, but he does need football now to sharpen him game. He's hardly going to have any game time under his belt by the time Spurs comes along.

He ran the whole game. I've never thought a player was more suited to a role at City than this guy. We need an alternative to Fern who needs to not play every single game. We have no natural player to give him a rest.

Not seen a lot of him and people on here have mentioned him. Thought he broke up our play and instigated all their best attacks.

Managed to get to all the home games up until now. Burnley may be my last for a while so Im hoping to see KDB on the pitch for part of the match. The team has done well but Kevin is a treat to watch.

All these permutations of our midfield are pretty mindblowing and I wouldn’t rule another addition in January if a Fern successor comes on the market (Ndombele or F de Jong).
It’s a nice problem to have but excepting an injury crisis there are going to be one or two players getting hardly any game time.

Don't forget Rabiot - a lot of clubs know they can agree pre-contract on a free in Jan. It might ease things between PSG and our club if we offered something generous.

Anyway back on topic. Kev is good for Jesus, and Mahrez and Sane. Expecting improved movement from these players and MORE goals.

I hope Kev comes on against Burnley off the bench for the last 25 minutes and gets the amazing reception he deserves.

I imagine he will. Can't see him starting as they'll want to gradually ease him back in, but he'll have been back in full training for a couple of weeks by the time of the game so no reason not be involved.
