Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Of course that is true but I was simply musing that if the club believed him to be WC, then they would be busting a gut to sign him (maybe they are)

Seems this is the way we negotiate at our club all other players usual sign a new contract that we want to keep it’s only Milner who didn’t.

Its seems very unusual, post takeover, that a player is not signing a contract based on financial grounds.

It does not sound like the business model of City to try and underpay their assets and I would presume their generous employers. Hopefully Sterling will reflect on his working environment, the support of the club and the generous pay offer and sign the contract.

At the end of the day, if he wants to stay - he will sign. I'm sure the club are not taking the piss with his pay and he is being rewarded very well, while also working in what I would assume is one of the best environments for a player. If he wants to go, then thanks for your time and there's the door, we move on.

Hahaha,I'm no super fan,but I've seen plenty leave over the years, and only been upset a few times.

And what the fuck you mean by guess ? I presume you watch football from time to time ?

Yes, watch loads of football. Enough to know that non of the three aforementioned players play right wing with an any frequency.

Is that right

Problem is it don't matter 2 fucks what you think,or me for that matter, but my assertion is that there would be enough fucking tears to over fill the Irwell when you look back in this thread if he left, which as I say is ridiculous, and many would agree

The might of Iceland who were 2-0 up by the way, before he was introduced, just for info purposes of course, and Hazard would be a dream player to have in our ranks, whether he is bigging up a Madrid move or not,but yea I'll give you that one to your response,we wouldn't be happy if he chatted like that if he played for us,but if he played for us he wouldn't need to,as he'd be happy here I'm sure, playing in the best side in the league.

So still begs the question as to why he hasn't signed yet doesn't it ?

No doubt you can respond with a pile of shit as well

Yes, I'm sure lots of City fans would be upset if one of our best players left. Sterling much the same as any other top player.

This is something @meeesh struggles with, he can't accept that those defending Sterling are doing so with City's best interest at heart.

I've no idea of his post history so I'm by no means accusing him of such, but many fans nailed their colours to the he's shit mast.
He's put plenty of egg on many a face.
A mate of mine's Dad can't stand him, believes every negative story and only ever brings up an indifferent performance.

Another fella in the booza is delighted if we don't win when he's played.
The Sterling haters are a weird breed.

yep

All our first team squad players are millionaires, and as it stands, all our players will go on to become multimillionaires on the contracts they are on. Many are already multimillionaires. The club look after players remarkably well, better than most, if not all clubs do on the whole.

I like Sterling and i want to see him fulfill his potential for us to become an unquestionable world class player. He is progressing well under a manager who puts his arm around him and treats him like his son in mentoring him for the best. We, the supporters sing his name at games and he always has our backing en masse. The lad plays with a smile on his face and when Interviewied he has a warming character that is endearing. His two pearlers he scored at home had me leaping out of my seat punching the air in delight. I like the lad incase you were wondering; )

There is a lot of poverty in and around Manchester and it saddens me to see how the genuine homeless struggle to eek out a pitiful existance.

It also saddens me that footballers too often bite the generous hand that feeds them, and MCFC pay our top players fare more than any of them need but it is becoming increasingly common for greedy players fuelled by parasitic agents to demand more.

Do the right thing Raheem and sign on the dotted line. Otherwise if you're trying the well known "please sir, I want some more" Oliver Twist line, then "Raheem Sterling, he's top of the greed" will be more apt a chant...

I hope I'm still singing "he's top of the league" this time next season.

forget about arguing over tittle tattle, percentage wise how do you both rate the clubs chances that Sterling will sign this contract.

I do not know. Unlike others who have " gut feelings" I have no information. I can assess his strengths and weaknesses, and the improvement in his game since pep. But as I said at the time Pelligrini was strangling his game. He works hard and has a great consistency. I hope he signs, But the team is most important to me. I believe if he doesn't sign soon , the club should look to sell him. This would set a precedent, others would look carefully in the future. It is difficult and must be causing the club huge concern.
Replacing him is not as easy as some people seem to believe.
I gamble large amounts on football, but I wouldn't bet a shekkel on this atm

I like Sterling and really hope he stays. He’s improved hugely under Pep and could control improve. At the end of the day Sterling will do what he thinks is right for him and we’ll just have to hope that’s to stay where he’s played his best football. I think if he’s going to leap forward into the ultra well paid players he’ll need to run his contract down. Can’t see someone paying his transfer fee and paying him mega wages - but who knows. One things for sure if he goes MCFC will survive without him and we’ll be fine so no point in worrying- if Sterling jumps ship we’ll find an adequate replacement.

And that's the problem you're not,I'm struggling with nowt, although as you put it bluntly to me the other week, people putting their beak in,just like you have again is what gets on my fucking nerves

I'm not what?

Christ sake Raheem if you cant manage on the money you get £175,000 PER WEEK, i give up, it would take me 5 YEARS to earn that, and you want £100,000 PAY RISE for fuck sake where ars we going.

What you and i earn is irrelevant. They don't live in the normal world, the only relevance to them is what the guy across the changing room is earning.

Unfortunately 175k does not represent what he and his agent believe he is worth, hence the current negotiations.

Mate you’ve never liked Sterling. ;)
There are quite a few blues that don't, not just on here. A mate is always picking the negatives in Sterling's game. He's been telling me we should sell him for two seasons now. We have a difference of opinion, even though i can still see the flaws in his game. But those flaws are getting ironed out nicely now, and my mate still argues we should sell him.

Just a difference of opinion really I suppose
