Spurs’ new stadium

Ref what you say about Xmas is backed up mate by previous away over the festive period. Swansea and Palace with farcical times and the date of the game.
exactly. Swansea away was new years day with a noon kick off. don't tell me that wasn't planned to weaken our resolve, as players or fans.

@Bill trying to think of a local away. Yes we played Liverpool a couple of years back which was moved to a 1730 NYE kick off with no public transport home
another disgrace. all plans for New years eve gone at the whim of the corrupt premier league. i'd say why not be the home game but that still causes the same problem for our visitors. totally corrupt.

We had the likes of Soton and Ipswich away 8pm Monday 18 years ago, Norwich too not long after, nothing to do with trying to stop is winning the league.

City agreed to this fixture move so no wonder the support isn't great, the club do not deserve it.

I reckon so. 3000 tickets, its on telly and NO TRAIN BACK.
Cardiff went to Citizens as well, I think, and that wasn't televised.

Feels like this year could be a good opportunity to get to a few away games.

Train from Euston to Manchester at 23:00. Would mean legging it up Olympic Way but can just be done.

1/4 of the way into the 1st of 3 NFL weekends and they are talking about the state of the pitch. It's been rained on all day, the middle looks bare and it is turning up.

In 3 weeks' time it's going to be absolutely fucked.

Don’t be silly
The poster above reckons a sprinkle of water and it’ll be fine

Thanks. It looked ridiculous in the match against Barcelona. If it's anything like that, it might hinder some of our play. Having said that, if they water it well before the match in two weeks, that should mitigate some of the roughness.

Still, there has to be a standard to be maintained by premier league teams with regards to pitch condition. Hosting NFL and boxing matches isn't really an excuse. I guess the fact that Wembley isn't Tottenham's actual stadium makes this a murky area.
Do you know there is a standard are are you just suggesting there should be one?

You do realise, I hope, that there's an NFL match being played on it the day before our match?

Is there a reason for that?

No, I was saying there ought to be. But I don't think there is. Remember the clasicos back in 2011 between Barcelona and Madrid? The latter didn't cut or water the grass and deliberately created an unplayable pitch so as to upset Barcelona's passing game. Milan did something similar at the San Siro 2 years later, After Which Arsene Wenger issued a complaint to UEFA.

Pitches should be playable. Length of grass, dryness etc should all be standardized. It's 2018. Seeing a pitch like the one at Wembley the other day was odd and disappointing.
