Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Good work by the club in scrutinising the characters of potential signings in such depths. In short, we operate a “no cnuts” policy and it’s paying dividends. I can’t remember the last time we bought an out and out dud or a boat rocking wanker.......although before anyone starts, I haven’t checked!

Things have certainly improved from the early days when we were making a ‘statement’. Lots to thank Garry Cook and Bobby Manc for with regards these 3 players.

Some people are blind to this fact. Footballers at top class level live in different worlds to us. They compare wages to other footballers, not the sparky that has just fitted some lights in his new mansion.

Yep. Cos there are loads and loads of people who could fit his lights, but there aren’t many people (in the world) who can do what Raheem does on the pitch, thereby providing entertainment and pleasure to billions of people. Statement of the obvious, I know.

If £275k pw is what he’s asking, I’d be sorely tempted to pay it (or around the £250k pw mark). He’s without question the most improved player in the squad over the past 12 months, and, bar Bernie, our best this season. Plus he’s English, and who knows what might lie in store quota wise, once the lunacy of Brexit becomes binding. Tie him down to a 5 year deal, and in 3 years time that sum might seem like good value

The only players in the squad that should be on bigger money are Kev & Sergio so just pay him accordingly. (I've excluded Dave from that list for a variety of (primarily age-related ) reasons.

Exactly this. Don't let him go when he has yet to reach his peak.

Maybe he wants to go.....He had no loyalty to Liverpool and I am certain he has none to us, whoever pays the most $ he will play for.

Some players are motivated by money, is Sterling is one, then goodbye and good luck. Any player whom wants to leave us at this present moment must be a lunatic.

At the end of the day, if he wants to stay - he will sign. I'm sure the club are not taking the piss with his pay and he is being rewarded very well, while also working in what I would assume is one of the best environments for a player. If he wants to go, then thanks for your time and there's the door, we move on.
Indeed and I’d give him a good applause if he came back to play against us (unless it was for United or Liverpool).

I've not heard he wants to go, just that he wants closer parity to our top earners which he fundamentally deserves

I'd be surprised if Pep thinks his development at Dortmund will be better than if he had stayed at City

True but his England cap will be pinned to his wall this week and we all know he would not have had an appearance for City this season.

Either we pay him or someone else will. He has not even got close to reaching his ceiling as a player.
