Crap towns

Nobody mentioned the delightful Hartlepool. Only redeeming feature is it’s the cheapest large harbour in the uk to moor a boat. On a nice day you can go on your boat to the wonderfully named Seal Sands which consists of a Nuclear power station and a number of chemical plants.

A shout out also for Scunthorpe.

Ah, S****horp; the clue's in the name.

Also, Rochester - Absolute dump. It always pops up on those Police, Camera, Action type programs.

And if you're mentioning Hartlepool, you've got to mention the monkey!

Bacup with the League Of Gentleman being heavily based on it's inhabitants .It even has it's own department store for Local People.

Haha but it’s understandable mistaking a monkey for a French spy, well it was allegedly dressed in an officers uniform and couldn’t speak English.
Almost monty python style logic I.e “If she weighs the same as a duck then she’s a witch”.

Has Crewe been mentioned? It has one redeeming feature for the footy fan, though. Arrive by train and the ground is next door - yer don't have to go into the centre! And to think that Crewe is in Cheshire!!

Princes Risborough and Virginia Water? They sound like proper shitholes!
I would totally second Crewe. Its a shit hole and unfortunately i have to spend plenty of time there with work. To think Nantwich which is lovely is only 10 minutes away.

margate and vast majority of that area of kent. even the locals call it planet thanet.
With the exception of Whitstable surely, spent a week there a few years back and loved it.

I agree with you about Margate though, we planned an afternoon out there, drove through it and couldn’t even be bothered to get out of the car.
