Football Lads and Lasses against Facism

That's just your confirmation bias talking I'm afraid.

Nope, it's a fact. Nigel Farage has said himself he stepped back from UKIP because of the "ghastly" people in it, and that's because in order to create a wide enough base they had to be strong on what they were against but weak on what they were for, that's why he had no clue what was in the manifesto, because it didn't matter, it was just made up shit.

Momentum are pretty clear what they're for, it's just you're not for what they're for, that's not a criticism, I'll give you your due, you've not been shy about that.

Well fuck me sideways and call me a little doggy...

I completely agree with you.

I despise the Socialist Workers Party more than you, believe me. I've had run ins with them on more than one occasion, they're f**king parasites, selling bullshit lies to awaken the sleeping giant of the working class to violently cast off the chains of their oppressors!

You think Corbyn is an extreme left winger, believe me, compared to these arseholes he's Ian Duncan Smith.

So what? Plenty of ghastly people in Momentum, who seem to be solely against Blair and the Evil Tories.

You won't agree with that, which is fine, but it's exactly why it's your confirmation bias and inability to see how they are seen by others.

Ha - now I'm agreeing with you!

I do see it as it's seen by others, I have an idea what you hate about it but it cannot be argued that Momentum doesn't know what it's for and what it's against. You can still hate it and you might well consider it full of ghastly people, but it's ghastly people who know what they want and what they don't want.

UKIP is dead because it was solely defined by what it was against and that was the EU, well now we're leaving, so there's no reason to exist, because they never defined what they were for.

What you can't do is self-define one group and not the other. It doesn't work like that. UKIP actually had a pretty thorough manifesto far beyond just leaving the EU, and it developed over time. They did have the opportunity to do more, that they didn't is because of all the infighting and because they too were full of ghastly people. Don't presume to know what I think about them.

You could start a fight with your shadow!

UKIP was a single issue party, that issue to a great degree has gone and the torch has been picked up by the Tories. Single issue groups die when they win or when they lose control of the issue.

That is simply a fact.

"They" have set one up so "We" better get one to counteract them - leads to this sort of mentality - just keep politics away from the stands eh folks?

I don’t think he’s that extreme to be fair.

My main gripe with Corbyn, as you know, is that I think he’s been weak on antisemitism (let’s not start arguing on this by the way).

I didn’t have a problem with his manifesto at the last GE.

He’s more left than me, for sure but his economic policies I can get on board with.

Do you know what the word fascist even means? Yes, the ultra left can be dicks, but they are the exact ideological opposite of fascist.

Suppressing the opinions of political opponents is every bit as fascistic as hatred of ethnic or religious minorities. I don't consider a counter-protest by itself to be a form of suppression but I suspect there are many counter-protesters happy to see the proscription of groups who oppose suicide bombings and grooming gangs.
