As far as I know, normally it's based on where he lives. If he lives in Cheshire, he'd be aligned to the Cheshire FA.

I'm pretty sure Wythenshawe is governed by the Cheshire FA because it's south of the river Mersey. It's that administrative quirk that allows Taylor to ref City / United games.

I actually don't think that he is a United fan, but it's an absurd appointment to give the derby to him.

I’ve said many times before; I don’t know him but three people I know do.

A mate of mine went to school with him, he was an Alty fan at school. A mate of mine used to play for Alty and whenever Taylor sees him he always goes to talk to him to see how he is and talks about Alty. My mate’s missus is mates with Taylor’s missus and while his missus is a red, she says he actually is an Alty fan.
