Trouble is, if they do something about it now, not only would it call their integrity into question for this game, but for all the others he's officiated for both teams, that isn't ever going to happen, as said, regardless, shouldn't be near either team, and if he is a rag or has leanings, the red dippers too imo.

He was the ref when we played and beat Liverpool 2-1 a few years back wasn't he? Rodgers was quick to complain about his performance and how a ref from Manchester shouldn't be reffing a team from Manchester. He wasn't too bad that day, Liverpool had a goal disallowed (wrongly) but that was the linesmen rather than Taylor. Taylor also missed their defenders attempts at every corner to get inside our players. Rodgers point was right though and all would agree that he shouldn't do any game involving City, United, Liverpool.

My stupidity, it would make more sense if Sky chose the ref for such games.

It's about time the corrupt PiGMOL was removed from all such duties along with collection of inept referees.

Where are our investigative press sources when you need them ?

I agree he shouldn't do any City or rag game but why shouldn't he ref Liverpool games?

Why do ex refs need non-disclosure agreements before leaving? Surely there’s nothing to disclose if they are above board.

That if it is true and he has United links he shouldn't be reffing their rivals either. Although he shouldn't ref in the league all together but that is where it all starts and why he claims he supports who he does. To be a ref you will need to really be into football i'd imagine, it's funny how anyone who is a half decent ref always seem to support inoffensive lower/non league teams. Where are the refs who support the big boys or if you are a fan of one of them you don't bother take up reffing?

I don't know why we don't have foreign English speaking refs.

Taylor is not from Altrincham he was born and grew up in Wythenshawe, Manchester, which has nothing to do with Altrincham.
Taylor’s connection to Altrincham is that he pretends to support their non league football club.
I believe he currently lives in Bolton, a town just north of Manchester.
Don’t be confused by electoral wards as they cross boundaries. They have nothing to do with which towns or cities areas are actually located
