As several people responding to him on that thread said, it is interesting that he does not mention the targeted tactical fouling from Lingard and Herrera, each with 5-8 fouls, that did not lead to yellow cards for accumulation. Or the fact that many fouls were called against us, including on Fernandinho (supposedly the supreme master of the dark arts).

His entire argument seems to be that we should be punished because we are just better than United at knowing when to foul and when to let play continue.

Why are all our fouls “tactical” or “cynical”, but everyone elses’ fouls are just... “fouls”?

Oh sure that's just the media influencing the thinking of their gormless masses. Constant - possibly orchestrated - negativity about our Club will always generate negative debate, negative comments and, most importantly, advertising clicks / revenue. It's a desperation survival strategy the media have to use cos, without the gormless masses, their influence and reason for being becomes irrelevant.

Drink it in folks - what a time to be a Blue.

This is the latest, in a fucking very long list, of the scumbag sports journalists that inhabit the UK, to try and demonise this great City side.

It’ll fail again, don’t worry.

Soft red twat.
Indeed! As others say elsewhere, just another straw-clutching exercise to try to undermine the great football we play. Listen, I’ve seen a lot of different great teams and players as well as the cloggers since My Old Man first took me to Maine Road in 1959 (to see the champions, the Wolves have City put four past them.. mind, they put six past us!.. and yes, younger readers, Wolves have been the champions!) In that time I’ve seen some real hard tackling hard men, as well as the cynical bar-stewards in various teams, including our own (and none harder than our own Mike Summerbee) But I have never, ever seen a more cynical performance, either live or on tv, than I witnessed when my brother-in-law (a Red) offered me a spare ticket to see United play Norwich at home in the 92-93 season. Norwich had led the table for quite some time and had a good attacking side, so I fancied seeing them. They played open football and matched United, who were chasing them that year (and eventually won their first title in ages) with Ruel Fox making it 2-2 just after half-time, Norwich threatening to take the points from there. During a break in play, Cantona went around every United player to have a word and within moments, United turned from a team trying to play football into one that kicked and went over the top in every tackle. Norwich’s stride/momentum was broken and they clung on for a draw in the end, much good it did them as the season ended. It was clear what went on, a ‘button had been pushed’ and United roughed Norwich up. There’s nothing new in all of this, teams have done it since the year dot. The United roughing up of Arsenal some years later was another example of their cynicism. City play sublime football and commit fouls on occasion. For the likes of Robson to say we’re the most cynical ever is nonsense. He should look up games like this one and see real cynicism (and potential leg-breakers) in action.

Utterly fucking clueless these ****s.

Tactical fucking fouls? What does that even mean because every foul can be called a tactical foul, every single one.

What is it they want? City making tackles against the rules?

Fucking bell ends make my piss boil.

This is the latest attempt to try and find a way to stop us. They have tried pressing us, they have tried parking the bus, they have tried playing it long, they have tried kicking us off the pitch and now the latest tactic is to pressure the refs into booking/sending off our players. I look forward to what inventive new strategy they come up with next.
