Anthony Taylor (of Altrincham)

If you watch him closely on the first goal he goes to put the whistle to his mouth then waves play on. If Silva missed I think he would of brought it back for the penalty IMO.

But should Smalling have been carded regardless of the goal? You see refs frequently signal advantage and come back and card players, particularly for pulling back players going through on goal. He shouldn't be let off because we scored.

Advantage ? If it wasn't for Silvas sublime skill we would not have scored, he would then have said that he had played on so no penalty and we would have been left fuming. You do not get much more of an advantage that a penalty, add to that another ref might have sent him off, clearly denying him a goal scoring opportunity.

Advantage my arse.
You can't have it both ways, if he'd blown for a pen a fraction before Silva sticks the ball in the net you'd be complaining he should allow the goal to stand.

Play has to stop immediately if a red card is to be shown, a ref can't allow advantage and then go back and issue a red, only a yellow which is what Smalling should have received.

Yes I would never expect the Alty fan to give a red, but he let him off scott free, he should have got a yellow after the goal.

Think the guy is an utter bulb and appointing him for the Derby was a ridiculous decision and created so much unnecessary pressure.

Having said that, no issues with the red twat yesterday.

You were closer to the correct score than me BB! But its Win Win....and im a proud proud man, that Manchester City, after a week of relentless, planned, negative press, and playing against a team reffed by one of their supporters...still managed to outclass Muppet utd fc...

Perhaps the press can now turn their attention to the central midfield player in red who was involved in match fixing back in Spain a few years ago...as captain ,he admitted taking cash....on behalf of his team...no sanctions yet as far as i know.....Stand up Herra, didnt notice you much in the derby..have you handed the cash back yet?....you little Cheat.
At 2-0 up I was confident we would smash them by 4 or 5. When they got one back with their only shot on target the guy next to me said “Typical City”. I must admit I lost my confidence for a few minutes but obviously I needn’t have worried. When that glorious third goal went it I turned to the guy next to me and said “Now that’s typical city”. Hope you had a great day pal, and yes Herrera is a massive snidey shithouse rag cûnt

Credit where it's due I thought he had a good game yesterday and was barely noticed which is usually the sign the ref has had a decent game.

I thought the penalty was soft at the time but looking at it later on tv it seemed fair. Same with the Smalling "Handball" it looked a penalty in real time but not so much looking at the replay. I think he could have given one as Smalling blocked Sane with his arm near the end, but overall considering the pre match concern he had a good game.

Not so sure we've seen him make movements Luiz & Delph then not do what he was about to do.
Exactly .those two incidents..in both the premier league....and the Fa cup(wigan) are prime examples of Taylor clearly changing his mind..the first one, after speaking into his mouthpeice .(cant remember if he spoke to anyone v wigan)...my age old question is who does the ref speak to in these game changing decisions, given that VAR is not being routinely used in this country, and who do these faceless people support; )
Are these people properly qualified to make such decisions? Lol it was all so easy in the old days....to shout on the Kippax"who,s the bastard in the black?!!"
Now...its more like 'computer says no'..Modern football ay... ,who,d have it? ; )

Hell BlueMoon has suddenly become an Anthony Rag Taylor love in. WE saw Wigan away which followed Chelsea at home. The simple fact is we did not give him chance to be the usual bent ref that he is, that is how good we were. He did not give the Sane penalty in the second half and he was not going to give this one.

But you can’t have it both ways, many said we should be too good for him to influence the game and we was. A lot of people said it wouldn’t matter because he’d change the game. He didn’t and we was too good. It’s not a love in it’s called getting your head out of your arse. This thread was 70 plus pages of us all suggesting he’d kill the game for us, some even saying they might not even go to the game! It’s only fair to then say when he actually reffed the game very well.

I have to agree, he did a good job. My only concerns after the game watching the highlights was whether he would have blown for a foul and pen on Sergio before our goal. But some on here having looked more closely than me have said he had the whistle in his mouth but played advantage. So happy to take their word for it. Second dubious challenge was shoulder charge pen on Sane in last few mins but some you see some you don't. He annoyed me during the game when we had subs, and as our players walked off he made a big show of saying he was adding time on. Nothing in the rules about players having run off when subbed. He didnt indicate he was adding time on when DeGea was wasting time in the first half oddly. By I accept these are minor points. He had a good game.

The penalty when we scored I think is most annoying. I know Taylor has previous with changing his mind but he said advantage because we was playing on. Some people are determined to make something from nothing like this issue where they are even predicting what he would have done if Silva didn’t score. Let’s focus on what he did do and that was ref the game overall very well. We won, the ref didn’t ruin it and we got no suspensions as many feared. Let’s be happy.

The leopard can't change his spots. Had Taylor been schooled in the Queensbury Rules and not the LotG (the latter of which I still remain doubtful!) he would have been obliged to have stopped the contest before Le Lump entered the arena! He was not provided with any real opportunity to diminish the number of our players as he did at Wigan with a decision that has still not be explained to any City fan's or Fabulous Delph's satisfaction. And I would have preferred Kiddo to have spoken to him with a more appropriate greeting than 'Hi, Anthony, alright?" More, "Hi, Anthony, what cheating manoeuvre have yer got lined up today? Is Kun getting a red before he scores a stunner?"

i thought he did quite well the whole game. He managed flash points like time wasting such as De gea from Minute 1 and clocking city subs so it sort of evened out. Fellaini and Dinho just kicked lumps into each other all afternoon and we will never know how neither got booked but i think he tried to balance the game where he could. If someone gets an early Yellow then it sets a tone all afternoon and the intensity of the game drops off. The Aguero incident was a Pen but at least he played advantage and we took it.

I didn't see him clock DeGea time wasting. Pleased if he did mind. Kind of restored some more faith in him.

They never do, every ref wanders towards the centre circle not watching what's going on & chats to an opponent player while the keepers all fuck about.

Really one for the agenda, was it Cardiff when we were getting grief for the time a sub took yet our opponents take forever.

I can imagine his match report. Due to pep, bluemoon and the media outlets I felt obligated to let things go today I normally wouldn’t. Everybody knows I sleep in my rag pyjamas and have a photo of Gordon mc’queen on my wall. It was very intimidating today even the early leavers stayed till the end. I thought it was only right I didn’t give the penalty for sane as it was Remembrance Day. Ok got to fuck off now meeting Daniel sturrage in bet Fred’s at 12 yours mr A Taylor atrincham Cheshire united

I haven't got my head up my arse and I am not tying to have it both ways. City did not give him the chance to fuck us over. We should have controlled it better against Chelsea but we allowed him to wind us up with his cheating. We then had the Wigan farce where an over the top challenge (a straight red) on Aguero went unpunished only to be followed by the most stupid/bent/ decision I have ever seen, (name another time a ref has pulled out a yellow and then a red.
On Sunday we kept the ball so well he would have had to make the most obvious wrong decision against us and be shown to the world that he is a cheat or he became a spectator. He had two major decisions to make, he made neither. I am not counting the penalty he gave that was nailed on, he should have given a penalty for the Sane foul, he didn't and he should have given it for the Aguero foul, he didn't. My point is, he wasn't going to give either. My point is it has suddenly become a Taylor love in on here. Apart from the 2 decisons mentioned above he didn't make any bad calls but that is down to us not giving him a chance to do it.
