Hard to agree with that. Part of what makes Ederson so great is his impulsivity. Yeah he'll get it wrong occasionally but long term its an asset for this team and how we play.
I agree he's an asset, but I think what makes him great for us is his coolness and willingness to pass and distribute accurately under pressure.

Just as any player can improve and learn, I think he should study his performance and improve his decision making to avoid over committing to challenges he doesn't need to make.

Second one was hardly unstoppable.
Hardly makes him "not much of a shot stopper" for a shot taken early and low by his feet(he was trying to close down the space as he shot), those can be hit and miss for the best of keepers. He's stopped quite a few like that at City already.

Yeah, I think his incredible one on one save against Lyon at home has already been forgotten by some.

He’s obviously incredible with the ball at his feet. And he is a very good shot stopper. But his positioning can be suspect, as with lyon’s second goal. See also Rashford’s goal in the derby at the swamp last season or season before and a few more. To be clear, yes I am nitpicking. I love him and wouldn’t swap him for any one.

Same here.
I love when he comes out in a rush and clears instead of waiting on the line.
With Lyon's second he should have stayed closer to his line though.
Laporte was there, limiting Cornet's angle.
Ederson was too far away to block the ball and too close to react properly.
It happens and was not easy to assess. No problem.

I knew his shot stopping had improved this season but didn't realise by how much

It must be so demoralising for opponents when Eddie has the ball at his feet as they know they have to press him whilst also knowing he is going to make them look silly with his calmness and accuracy
