It's not going in a straight line though is it? It's Sky (as host broadcaster) beaming a digital signal through 30 or so satellites and then whatever servers etc NBC are using before going back to you, there's a lot of extra distance and routing as the signals won't go more than 100 miles in a straight line without degrading.

Of course, and I was factoring that in to the 2-5 seconds. For instance, when I watch La Liga via Bein, it is usually only a 2-3 second delay to my cousins watching in Zaragoza. It’s 10 when I stream it via iPad whilst travelling.

Which tells me NBCSN is using an unnecessarily inefficient relay system, which is my complaint.
