So glad he's no longer at the club. The sheer frustration of watching him delay forever in a promising position and then pass backwards.
He WAS bang average ! Well maybe slightly better but that wouldbe itNot a bad career for "bang average":
633 Senior appearances
2 - UEFA Cups
2 - Copa del Reys,
1 - European Supercup
1 - Spanish Supercup
1 - World Cup Winners medal
1 Premier League Win
2 League Cups
Yep, Tom knows best as always....
In hindsight, RWB would have been his best position for City when Zabba’s legs went. Navas was class the first 90% of stuff that he did but his final ball was poor and his career goal scoring record abysmal. You can’t afford to have players so high up the pitch consistently missing easy chances which is what makes Sterling’s development over the past couple of seasons so important for us because there was a danger he was gonna be a Navas Mark II.
Unless I am mistaken he did play there on a number of occasions without covering himself in glory.Would’ve made a decent full back against the lower sides imo.
Good shout - Raz and Jesus do have quite a lot in common. I'm sure Pep could've got a lot more out of Navas.I liked him,the stopping and passing back was what mp made raz do,he has no problem being twice the player at Seville
The team didn’t play that well in that season, if he was here this season he’d be doing pretty well.Unless I am mistaken he did play there on a number of occasions without covering himself in glory.
Definitely better going forwards!
I have never known a winger hit the front man with more crosses than Navas. It was nearly every time. And he wasn’t as quick as everyone used to say, he just had quick feet.
It’s a shame that some still have to slag him off even now he has left, suppose its gives Gundogan Jesus Walker and Mendy a break
Bloody hell, absence makes the heart grow fonder for some. His final ball and goal scoring were mostly dreadful considering who he was playing for. Always tried fair enough and the Wembley goal lives long in the memory but after that first season when he did contribute a lot not even Pep could get an end product.Liked his work ethic, always did his best, which was more than some others at the time. Bet he's glad he never had he's own thread like Gundog, hey ho.
