Leicester (League Cup) - Post Match Thread.

I said on here when we signed Mahrez that although a good player I didn't think he was quick enough for City. I've seen little since to change my mind.

Usual game.
Walker,Zinchenko and Mahrez poor.
Great win though Foden again looking the part and Sergio and Kev back.
Walker whats happening to him looked awfull again.ottamendi to many mistakes and zin good player he is getting found out at left back.foden is class kdb needs a few games same with kun.big shout out to muric and garcia .

Of course it's the manager's fault but it's time it was stopped. He isn't learning how to defend.
I agree with that, and I thought Pep hung him out to dry last week against a far better Hoffenheim, I said so after the game. He made one error tonight though for me, otherwise I thought he had a steady game, out of position. I would like to see him given a game in midfield, but its unlikely sadly, and we'll lose a talented player because of it.

And he didn't make up for it, he scored a pen, which has nothing to do with being fullback.
No, he did make up for it, he could have hid (like many do in shoot outs) and not taken one at all, but he stepped up, I was worried when I saw him there, but he definitely nailed it, and along with Aro, won the tie.

He isn't 'out of position' though, because he only plays fullback.

He's one of our fullbacks.

Great run out for some of the young ones, hope they keep their places in the semi
Enough brownie points in the bank as our Raz, no complaints from me on the pen.

Bang average performance by the team.

Muric, Garcia, Foden and Diaz did OK considering their age - Otamendi, Stones and Zinchenko (apart from goal) were not too bad - De Bruyne showed his class but needs more game time - Aguero not at the races and Walker and Mahrez were awful.

Subs - Rahim anonymous and that penalty was a disgrace, Gundogan plodded about, Jesus added some urgency.

MOM - Has to be Muric he looked as cool as a cucumber in the shootout.

Strange one that. There were times in the second half when I'm not even sure we were even that bothered about winning it. I know Guardiola makes the same noises as Pellegrini used to about taking each game as it comes and doing everything to win it (which is a little hard to square with the starting selection), but even at the end, there was almost an air of 'oh well, another round' about the celebration. It was certainly in stark contrast to the euphoria last season, albeit the circumstances then were rather different. I just wonder if, knowing what happened last season and the toll it takes, he'd have stomached going out on penalties tonight if it meant saving energy for the bigger prizes.

Anyway, Burton or Bournemouth, please.
