Liverpool thread 2018/19

Just saw the bit about them talking up their so called legacy and prestige....what a bunch of losers. Also them going on about us wanting a rivalry with them....they really are completely and utterly mad and deluded. How dare they even mention the word rival when it comes to City and consider themselves to be worthy of that honour. How can there be any rivalry involved with a team like Liverpool who have won absolutely nothing for years and City who have won the Premier League 3 times in the last six years plus other Cups. It's like they live in some parallel world in a different reality. Maybe we might consider a rivalry with these nutters in a few years time if they actually win an important trophy at some stage of the 21st century.

This lot will start to drop points soon enough, we witnessed their massive drop off in play when he rested some of the starting eleven and then had to bring them back on to get the game won. Regardless of them having a bigger squad the level of quality is not the same.

The luck they have been getting will even itself out as well, plus lets not forget that this best start since sliced bread inly has them 1pt ahead whilst we are ticking along nicely with Kev, Sergio, Silva waiting now to come back

Kev being the massive boost to our team is going to be huge from now onwards.....

The reports now coming out of liverpool are that they ate getting giddy again, lovren has done a piece in the echo to that effect. The pressure is going to build on this lot soon enough and we all know how liverpool handle the pressure, even when at home if it starts going pear shaped you can hear a pin drop in that stadium

You've been saying this for a few months now and they're still up there.

They picked up three injuries to first team players recently and we didn't see them collapse. In fact in their last games v Utd, Bournemouth and Napoli, they looked better than early season.

I think they're improving steadily as the season progresses and will be, no are, a huge threat.

Salah or vvd goes down for a month then thats when they will drop points. But those 2 players could not get an injury all season and they be very close to winning the title.

They don't have injuries to key players like we did/do yet are just 1 point ahead because of a missed pen by us and a handball goal wolves scored against us that would not be given if the linesman wasn't blind, not to mention a few decisions and flukes going their way

I'd actually agree with that to be fair but that only highlights how far off the pace they have been for most of the season, despite getting the impressive run of results going their way. They were hardly brilliant in them games either, the opposition beat themselves in some respects, United and Napoli at least. They really haven't been that good and they need to improve to keep pace with us because they can't keep relying on luck or cutting it so close.

Agreed, without Salah and Van Dijk they would struggle possibly.

Simply not true. They are struggling through recent games. Sooner rather than later they will trip up. Then we will see how the new invincibles react.

Says the ostrich.

They've had some luck for sure but with nearly half the season gone I don't think think being top of the league can be entirely down to flukes, referees..etc.

Every team will have at least one game a season where they play out of their skins and I don't think Liverpool have had one yet. I just hope it isn't being saved for the game against us in typical dipper fashion... but if it is, I hope we are ready for it and batter them anyway because that would crush them, they'd have no excuses left.

It's not mate, Some blues won't have it that the Dippers are top, but that's exactly where they are. It's now down us to go through our gears and put a good run of victories together. I just can't see them keeping up with us come April or May, Well I hope so anyway.

A club isn't top at this stage of the season because of luck, they are a huge threat to us.
We'll beat them to the title but they won't be far away
