From RAWK:
"I still don't get why fans keep saying we should have won.
City recycled all the loose balls very well. Their fans were the loudest I have ever heard, for the whole 95 minutes. They were really up for it, and worked very, very hard. They could have won by 3-1 if Sterling was more precise".
And there is the difference.
Those magical European nights at Anfield start of with YNWA, then the odd chant of Liverpool, Liverpool, silence, silence, Allez, Allez, silence, silence, goal, fields of.... can't spell it, silence, silence, silence, Liverpool, Liverpool, another goal, Allez, Allez......
Same cbants at the start and after a goal, inbetween silence.
Compare that to the Etihad last night. Almost constant singing bar the edgy last 5 minutes, loads of different chants, 3 winding the Scousers up, etc.
Both good atmospheres, but different. One lasts throughout the match, while the other is sparadic.
