FA Cup 4/5/6/7 Jan

Klopp pre match:

“I had to make these changes. A few players were really ill and then in the last session yesterday we lost Adam Lallana with a minor thing, but it’s enough not [to be able] to play – and Hendo had something from the Man City game.

“We had to make a few changes already, it was clear. Virg cannot play; he is at home and hopefully it is nothing, but he has played all the games so far, so we had to try to find a solution for that – and we found it, hopefully, with Fabinho."

Already getting his excuses in for today and the next few matches.

If they win, it will be down to his players’ Herculean efforts and his tactical genius.

If they lose, it will be down to injuries, some of them due to the rough nature of our play on Thursday.

And of course although he doesn't come out and say it outright, they've 'been really ill for the last few days' ie another excuse for why we beat them and how they were unlucky and it wasn't their fault.
Surprised Salah isn't temporarily 'injured' after that horrific assault by Vinny.

I am sure there will be calls for retrospective action against whichever of our players ran past Henderson too aggressively that it lead to injury.

Could root for any result in this one.

Liverpool win - More fixture congestion and a slight distraction from the league.

Draw - Even more fixture congestion

Wolves win - Better chance of winning the thing and Liverpool go into Brighton (a) on the back of 2 domestic losses.

Wolves side looks stronger and ultimately, I'll probably be hoping they smash the dippers when it kicks off.

So; what do we want tonight then? A dipper win, to keep their schedule hectic? Or a Wolves win, for the comedy value?
I’ve been asking myself this and I am really not sure if we want them to lose to compound the doubt and discontent we seeded in their minds or win so as to add opportunities for additional fatigue from another headless chicken marathon in a congested schedule.

Perhaps a draw and then loss in the replay?

Draw and replay.

Apologies to anyone who's booked travel or accommodation for next Monday's game if it happens.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Camacho, Fabinho, Lovren, Moreno, Milner, Keita, Jones, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Origi.

Only 9 changes. As it's Liverpool the media won't accuse them of disrespect to the competition.

Love the way Liverpool Pravda is hailing the line up as great opportunity to let the next Ian Rush/Jan Molby etc to take the match by storm.

They'll never catch me in the long grass.

I look looks like he is intentionally looking to lose.
How dare you accuse Klipperty, the greatest manager ever of wanting to lose. If we'd cut the grass properly he wouldn't have so many injuries tonight. Tsk!
