Rio was right on this one.
Ashley has a alot to hate about him and how he conducts business for Sports Direct, with his 0 hour contracts etc...In terms of Newcastle he has spent a lot of his own money. He even wiped their debts when he took over.
Newcastle's main problem their gaffer is past his sell by date. If a Moyes, Bruce, Warnock et al was doing the job Rafa was doing they would be hounded out. Yet somehow Rafa gets a free pass. They hounded out Bobby Robson who had them regularly in the top 4.

There's other managers out there with a lesser CV than Rafa, with poorer squads that are higher in the league than Rafa.
As you may guess I live up here - the tide is slowly turning on Rafa amongst the fans. They've pretty much given up on Ashley spending money and they've pretty much given up on seeing Keegan like teams. They're in a position where they are damned if they do (go to the match and watch the crap football given to them) and damned if they don't (don't go to the match and miss the odd great performance - first half of United) IMO Rio was right - he's selling the club, or wants to, so if you're selling your house you don't fit a new bathroom, kitchen and build a bloody conservatory when it's up for sale. No money will be spent and he's still owed by the club about £100 million.

Apparently it’s completely unrelated to the fact that Sports Direct are the “exclusive retailer” for Ferdinand’s awful clothing range.
That is more worrying, sorry funnier than what he said. Everyone knows Sports Direct buy (mostly) shite cheap and pile it up to sell cheap. No one else will touch Camels crap apart from Ashley, poor Camel, shite pundit, shite clothes.
