Dianne Abbott

no I don't - I think there is a broad range of views here.
Wow - it would be interesting see some analysis on that.

Personally I think that any poster that openly supports the Tories must consider this forum to be (at a guess) 9/10s Left leaning Labour voting members. I would think that the difference to your view is that it becomes a matter of how left....

Blueinsa has been clear that he is a lifelong Labour supporter and I come from Winton, Eccles / Salford - which explains the influences in my life - I think that I have only not voted Labour twice.

I guess that we would not fit your view of Left leaning / Labour supporting - when the reality is that we are - if you judge left being anything left of centre rather than extreme Left. Anyway - do not want to get too far off the topic - Perhaps we ought to have a poll to on voting intentions - I would be shocked if there were many Tory clicks..

Ask @Ric to set one up.

Interesting idea - why not do so once we know what happens to the May deal? Include UKIP among the options - see if what comes out of the vote indicates a resurgence in their support too?

I generally have a very low opinion of politicians across the political spectrum, left, right and centre. Very few have real world experience and when it comes to practical stuff like delivering things and using common sense, they are hopeless. In fact the only thing they are good at is talking. Most of them talk a good talk.
Diane Abbott however is different. She can't even do that.

Maybe the first part of your post is a result of prioritising people who are good at talking, but not doing?

Yes, undoubtedly it is. They sound very credible when doing speeches but when it comes to the crunch, they are mostly a dead loss. It would be interesting to see how we all coped if you got rid of the lot of them. Maybe keep some to produce the budget etc.

The result is a bunch of snake oil salesmen/women. Saying all the things that they think people want to hear while having no intention whatsoever of delivering. I’m sure that they have good intentions and believe that they are right. However, there should be a point in time that they should realise that they’re on the wrong path and have the humility to admit that they were wrong.
Career politicians that have done nothing but sit in meetings their entire adult lives don’t have the same vision as everyday people. This applies to all sides of the political spectrum. They may well knock on doors and ask for opinions and then claim that they’re in touch but it’s not the same as living the life. People who say what their biggest concerns are at the doorstep can often just be letting off steam and have their opinions clouded by something that’s recently been on the news.

She has been sidelined completely in the last few months, most of them have to be honest and probably for good reason given an election may come about...

Remember, this is someone who will be in charge of anti-terrorism policy who is opposed to anti-terrorism policies.

Her dealings with the IRA and Hezbollah will no doubt stand her in good stead then.

I am totally shocked that the Tories were that high - I would have had Labour at 75%

Indeed however still I doubt a Manchester City football forum will have many folk chipping in from Tory royal heartlands like Berkshire.

Regardless of polls Manchester has always been (inconveniently) red.
