Huddersfield (A) Post Match Thread

They’ve been awarded a lot more pens for a lot less that’s for sure, does that make it an agenda? Who knows but the referee and that linesmen should be demoted for making such an awful error
I will not be holding my breath that any of them will ever be brought to account for their incompetence.

Quality came through in the end because they are so bad. But away, on tv, early kick off and theyve got new hope with manager gone, still win 3-0 comfortably, so happy with the win.

However starting to think Otamendi is unplayable. Unless we can play out from both CB, it means the oppo only need worry about half the pitch. Cuts our options so much (as well as he played last season). Most of our worst performances this season (ie with least flow irrespective of results at times) with him in

I know we won 3-0 but that was a very poor performance against a very limited side. Sloppy all over the pitch and lethargic a bit like last season here except we played better then. I have never seen us give the ball away so cheaply at times and everything was slow and ponderous. A deflected shot and then two decent goals when we actually passed and moved quickly for once thankfully ensured we got the three points.

Now it is all about results and we have another one. Oh and Marriner and his linesman need investigating that was as clear a penalty you will ever see, an utter disgrace of a decision.

I am sure some will call me out for bias, as I am constantly railing against the officials as more corrupt than incompetent this season, but I think that was genuinely down to incompetence.

Still, compensated for the missed stonewall penalty.

Tbf they have just shown the v.a.r. version, all decided it's offside but it's no more offside than the ones they said were onside recently.

Which means presumably we would already be getting the shit end of offsides if v.a.r. was in play.

We won without really getting out of gear- ok, it’s only Huddersfield & they are shit, but we really didn’t break sweat.
Dippers on the other hand, strained to victory yesterday, & they are starting to look a bit goosed.

Not at our best, three goals and three points. That'll do.

Next league game is finally our chance to put a bit of pressure on Liverpool.

Walker is really beginning to worry me now...two examples from the game. Could have been sent off with a stupid tackle and in the last minute the winger just strolled past him when they almost scored. Against the top teams in the CL he will have to dramatically improve his performances.

I wish we could go back to the days of killing games in the first half and taking it easy in the second instead of the other way round.

Got the job done, generally never in danger but well below our best in terms of both quality and intensity. Probably what you get for not starting anyone named Silva though. Huddersfield are a bad Championship team tbh, they aren't going to trouble anyone.

A good 10 minute spell was all we really needed, but some pretty poor individual performances from the midfield (other than Fern, who not at his best, still much better than the others) and the Walker/otamendi disaster waiting to happen. Walkers form this year is getting to be a concern as his head seems to have gone, he's making the bad decisions he used to make at Spurs instead of the good ones he made last year. Danilo coming back and looking decent is a relief on that front as it takes pressure off Kyle (or puts it on?)

Either way, onwards and upwards. We'll play better than that you imagine if we need to, as Huddersfield really were tame.

I thought we took it pretty easy, all game. That's why the passing was not quite up there. Moments of nice football for the goals, but that's about it.
It's all about the result, when it's like that.
